Have you seen this?

http://www.hobbyking.com/SwarmSale.asp?id=19457

Its a clever idea.. They are getting us to promote their products to fellow modellers..

This one is for the new dual  redundant BEC. at $17.99

You start a swarm  I have done this, and then get 5 other people to join it. When you hit that magic figure then you can buy the product with an addition  big discount.

No con, just a good idea.. You just  hit the JOIN button , enter your email and the code as indicated on the link. It is a time limited offer ..12 hrs from the start of the swarm.

You have to use your normal valid email as for your HK acount..

Anybody up for it. :af

It's an interesting concept - just like the concept of "multibuys" which was outlined in my thread HERE and didn't get many supporters ...

Hi Wiz,  yes I saw that..

the only issue I saw was a matter of trust.. no offence intended.

HobbyKing is a known quantity, with years of  in the main, an  excellent trading record.

This is very easy to do as it in essence is just a normal transaction, with a discount code.

I'm unsure what happens if anybody drops out. If the code is accepted, then I'm assuming you'll get the discount anyhow.

Cheers.

Shaun

I'm not sure if you can  $%& If I am thinking of buying something and am concerned enough about the exchange rate I look it up for the method of payment I am using at the time. Every card will have slightly different exchange rates and for HK to bill us in GBP would give them an exhange rate risk on their prices due to daily fluctuations which would result in HK having to raise it prices a few %  :af

you just have to use the option on the bottom left of the home page. Problem is it's wildly innacurate & gives almost two dollars to the pound instead of the $1.50 ish that you'll actually pay.

Bottom of left-hand column,  under the Paypal /VISA/Western Union etc logos,  you can select language and currency.

Funnily enough this was discussed yesterday on another forum!  It's not clear whether they actually bill in the alternative currency or still bill in US$ and show the £/€/whatever price as an indication only.

(As BB-Q has just said!)

Remember, up is up, and down is down.  Except when inverted - when down is up, and up can be very expensive

LOL what a muppet I am :D

Never noticed that. Just goes to show it's true, you should never put a web ad on the bottom left hand side of the screen. It's the least looked at area  ;D

Hi Dom,

if this works out we could start an official swarm section on RCMF, where as products are released, we can join in and save...

i think the issue with your idea steve was getting shops and making it worth their while, not so much the multi buy

I know you believe you understand what you think i said, but i am not sure you realise that what you think you heard is not what i meant.
