Date for your diary Weston park 2011 18/19 June ,
Advance warning to all show  pilots that Weston next year will be  2.4  only during the show and in the evening ,
we have taken this decision due to safety reasons ,there will be no T.X controll over the weekend but will still have a booking in
tent for insurance and transmitter checking etc and this will be open from the Friday 12.00 .

well thats half the reds out then judging by the amount of shiny aerials on show during our slot last weekend  >:(

I know you believe you understand what you think i said, but i am not sure you realise that what you think you heard is not what i meant.

:af Well only my 2ps worth .. I think from a safety point of view this is a good thing.it is always a worry that someone in the crowd with a new 35 meg transmitter would turn it on.and also when flying in the evening the people from the camping can do so without worry  of being shot down.. but that doesn't mean to say jo public that don't now any better will still fly in the camping area and on the flight line when they shouldn't very hard to police from an organisers point of view as i say only my 2ps worth...  :D

I suppose it's inevitable. Just shows that 35Mhz is near the end of days - as shows go. But suppose with the amount of activity and flying during and after the shows, when you fly, the chance of a accidental switch on is nil.
Bet there will be loads of 35Mhz gear going cheap... ::)

I think it needs to be done, I actually saw someone at Weston playing with their shinny new FF9 a few years back and they weren't that far from the flight line, also a walk round the general traders at Woodvale you will see all sorts of RC stuff most of it on inappropriate frequencies ie cars on 35mhz.

Going to be a bit more noisy next year, with those on afterburner. :af
I do like the Swift display team, a bit different, and quite impressive. Pity no-one hasn't made a model of the "Spitfire", as I reckon it would fly well, as a model and look nice. C'mon ARTF'ers.

in light of the following can you still confirm the Tiffy displays ?
http://www.raf.mod.uk/typhoondisplay/news/index.cfm?storyid=4672EB71-5056-A318-A8865BA10855956E
We very much regret that it will not be possible for the Typhoon Display Team to display at some of its planned air shows in the immediate future. We sympathise with the publics’ disappointment but operational requirements must remain our priority.
