Just use a field charger from a 12v battery whilst you're at the field, charge it up every couple of weeks, takes an hour or so max.

Haven't got a field charger suitable. Prefer to do it at home anyway

You could use the chargers you state BUT there are a lot of unknowns Is the battery fully charged? Is the battery any good? etc etc you simply don't know. In my hangar I use one of these, it also doubles as a field charger too http://alshobbies.com/shop/lookupstock.php?pc=35029 with this type of charger you know the battery is full and how much went in to fill it up, you also know it wont overcharge damaging batteries along the way. Overlander have a good range of chargers and will give you sound advice too but their charger similar to the above is currently out of stock.

I agree with JohnB, I would also add from my experiance that peak chargers also keep Nihm's and NiCd's in much better health and increase there life.

I currently use an IMax B6 but it is out of stock from where I got it however this charger is supposed to be exactly the same just in a different case.

A good investment IMO  :af

Steve

For all the reasons stated before, these are not a good idea, they can kill batteries long term, offer no information re battery state etc etc.

TBH I've got an Imax B6, but I'm not sure if the jack plug fits, or if it is the right connection. Spektrum are the opposite of the Futuba's, negative on the inner IIRC. Don't want to connect something the wrong way round.

For Spektrum / JR red to black and black to red at the charger end, if you get it wrong, no harm occurs, the charger will simply indicate polarity.
