Shame.  Can't afford kits.

Oh well, cheers anyway.

Thanks for the info, I do like that Skydancer.  Pretty little thing and reminds me of the full sized Robin homebuilt.
Is a plan available ?

Cheers,
A/C2

Brian used the Rollison Condor as inspiration for the Skydancer IIRC.

That's useful, thanks.
I could work from there.

It really was a good turn out, will be on again next year so hopefully even more people will come!
Will it be roughly the same date Fisty?
Cheers
Phil

It may be earlier but we will keep people posted on the venue and date, will informed well before the event so as people can gett organised . . . and building!! Maybe a two day event!

One suggestion was a comp for a basic aerobatic schedule? or a club type comp that were common place, such as spot landing etc. What do people think?

Picture of the Skdancer that was in the recent pictures at Sleap, when Dave Mason first had it out flying at the Chelmsford site. Think this dates to 2003/4

I was so taken with the sleek 70s designs like the Dolphin and Chevron that I've only gone and ordered a King Altair kit from home and Hobby Solutions to go with my Tornado.  Surprisingly cheap at £148 including freight, but I've yet to see what HMC&E will hit me for.

Picked up the December issue of RCM&E today, there is a good report by Alex Whittaker on the 'Retro event' already talk of next years event . . . . . may even be two, another further south or more central, possibility of a club style aerobatic comp . . . nothing difficult! what do people think?

I was late getting Decembers RCM&E and yes the event had a brilliant write up, really very good  :af
Really just wish I could have been there, we could have put on a huge 'retro gear' display and we'd have been flying reeds & S/C - but unforch its just not possible to have time off during peak holiday periods.
Its great that people are coming up with these ideas and that they're so well supported, well done to everyone involved!  Its also generated a lot of 'follow up' interest, like Bob & his Marabu... and that Dirty Birdy was exquisite, I bet that plan is suddenly very popular!
Cheers

for me it was the Dolphin that took the prize, a really lovely model.  A Jim Davis product? :o   Bit of a step away from the Slim Jim and Low Jim.
Never mind the Marabu, I've got the Tornado complete and King Altair balsa and a Blue Angel foam/glass kits to get stuck into.   Did someone say obsessive? Unfortunately I can't run them as they were meant as the club has an 80dB noise limit, so the best I can do is loooong pipes and big props.  Bit of a problem with the Tornado as it don't leave a lot of ground-tip clearance.

I love  the Dirty Birdy, i took it with me at the weekend but i did not get time to get it out and fly it as we were playing about with the Calibre and Tornado.

 RobC,

Where did you get your gassfibre Blue Angel kit from?

Sunshine Modellbau in Germany.  It's a lovely looking model but, and I hate to say this, I'm tempted to stick a 91 4 stroke in it to get the noise level down.
On the other hand it could get an ST 61 or OS61FX.
