Mmmm nice design of case. No imitation screwheads or gratuitous knobbly bits. Must be serious!

You'd have thought Fut would have learned from their UK sales of the 14MZ. Not a huge seller as I'm sure most would agree. Still, they probably take the view they're manufacturing it anyway so fire a few at the UK and see if they go. You can be fairly sure 99% of them will go to US buyers.

£2200 is simply not a realistic price for a Tx here, particularly in the middle of a recession. Jeti will be sticking their neck out a little with their new Tx offering when it hits the market soon, but there can be little argument about the quality on offer, it's superb. It'll certainly shift if they offer it at about 1/3rd of the cost of the Fut job. Futaba have been trading on their name (not to mention resting on their laurals) for some time now, and the market is showing signs of leaving them behind a touch........

And as if to reinforce my point, I've been using telemetry for almost a year now with my 9ch set from a rival manufacturer. Why, there are even rock bottom priced 5ch sets on offer now with full telemetry capability. Come on Fut, never mind the flagship, get your mass market stuff fettled.........

Indeed. Madness.

I would like some sort of telemetry, namely battery checker.

Is there any after market add on I can buy that I can stick in my aircraft to give me this functionality?

It could run in parallel to my existing RX. I suspect I'd need some sort of add on attached to my TX as well.

Can I get anything? Otherwise I may have to build one myself..

No Jimbo, you won't have to build it yourself. I'd simply land and plug a battery checker in........

You could charge the battery fully, then have, say, three good flights. Plug the battery checker in, then see how many milliamps have been used up. That should give you a rough idea how long you might safely fly before a top-up is needed.

My 10 year TX  (Hitec eclipse 7) Which I have fitted a Hitec spectra 2.4Ghz module has, as standard battery monitoring as standard and most of there receivers in the range support it. In fact it saved me trouble just this weekend, about to take off for the first time of the day, I had charged the rx pack at the field and all seemed well.
Preflight checks all done and engine started, after playing with the engine about to leave the pits and the low battery alarm sounded. Killed the model back to the pits and packed up, when I got home found one cell failing, now this pack was only about 4 months old and if I didn't have the telemetry monitoring I would have flow and god knows what would have happened.

I know what would have happened. You'd have crashed......

The danger there though would be that you probably wouldn't have suspected the receiver pack. Telemetry doing it's job.......

Even now, I tend to put new receiver packs through a few cycles on my Mainlink Digiliser, just to be sure they hold up.

Aww. I don't want to land. I want to fly until there is 15mah left and maximise the flight time for minimum damage..

I talking about landing big 5m gliders here. One long flight is enough. If I knew how long it would last only one landing required.

Eagle Tree do a telemetry system....

Might be cheaper to just go Jeti Duplex though (if you have a suitable transmitter).
