At last! Took 5 mins to get the speedo. 5hrs to get that one.

At last I have a big scalie. 4.2m. I'm pretty excited about this one. She needs a bit of tlc, repaint and radio install. I like the looks a lot. Structurally everything looks good, so minor nicks/hangar rash.

Pass on the scale/ 1/4?

I think it is a glasflugel kit. Glass fuze with glass over foam wings. Or is that the maker of the original glider? Don't know.

I think it is probably a Pat Teakle one like this-

You'll be running out of room soon ;D
Must get on with my DG300

Being Pat Teakle it will fly well..just remember if you need to epoxy anything in, don't..He used Polyester resin.

Here's some more pics of it in the 'workshop'. I'm not sure it is a PT, it has a glass/foam tailplane. The glass looks like a moulding rather than applied in kit form.

Things todo. Tbh I think it is pretty much rtf. Just needs a radio install. It could do with painting some bits. But the glass looks good over most of the plane and my fiddling would probably make it worse. :(

Are you sure it isn't the exact same glider posted in the link about the review?

Pats ASW 20 was to a scale of 1/3.5 making the 20L version nearly 5m, this is 1/4 scale and quite rare, will turn out a nice glider. I remember the ad picture of Glasflugel of a woman in a hay field holding the 20L nearly on it's tip..... Lovely. Ant.

I've been told it flies nicely, likes to slope soar, but beware and keep the speed up, those narrow tips have a tendency to tip stall at slow speed. The asw series are very nice lookers.

Where are you finding all these nice used planes in such quick succession? Even at good prices you must have a fair sized modelling budget!

Oh, hang on - it isn't 'fly it like you borrowed it, land it like you stole it', is it!
So that's where I've been going wrong...

Lucky I havent started down the mouldie route yet or it would be 1 per six months.

Seriously though I think I have space for one more, this asw20 fuz is huge!.

And that will be ...

Something for f3f.

The 20 has a pilot for the maiden. He will need a seat belt as he's honna be subject to serious g force on the inverted loops :)

+1......fully moulded in veneer,I think he means!.....maybee give 50 quid for the wreck then if there are good servos in it. :''

PS...does this mean I have a fully moulded Teakle vega then cos mine has wood and foam wings ,just like the 20 :ev

Nah. No veneer. Glass Moulding over blue foam. The best type of construction I've been told.. None of your cheap chinese hollow mouldie stuff. German quality here. :)

Anyway should you lot be working. Hill should be empty again today :)

Ok ,I will give you that one...on the subject of work..I am at work today but ive been meaning to ask what line of work you are in and must do the same,as the amout of time  you spend building,on this forum and flying at the "pimple" it must be part time maximum...chris.T

Yep.....made by Glasflugel me thinks, they also made a 6.25m moulded ASW 22 also. Although £1000 seems very, very steep. early this year I purchased a 1/4 Grob, fully moulded by WIK for just over £200....mmmmm, good luck with the maiden and the sale.. $%&. Ant.

Very wise words!
Jimbo-you're a bit like a kid in a sweetshop with some birthday money- buying lots of different ones without appreciating any.

You've just bought a Wasabi - nice model, but how long before that gets discarded for something else?
I'm on my second Wasabi in four years, I fly it regularly but I'm still tweaking it and finding out new characteristics.
Slow down a bit and smell the roses!  ;)

Ok.. Well the wind was wsw, which was unfortunately not on the big hill and an angle on the pimple.

I did maiden the DR-Akrostar (flew great and a whole lot faster with a bucket load of epoxy and drainpipe in her belly) and maidened the Nyx Furio (wow epic that was). I also did a dry run set up the Asw 20 (she is too big to fly off the pimple). Cliff maidened his Acacia 3 as well.

Flying was great nice 15mph.

Here are pics of the 20.
