Please pardon my ignorance but, what exactly IS PrOn??
Is it "pron" deliberately mis-spelled perhaps? In which case why not make the title/header a bit more specific and/or understandable?
ps I'm still reeling from asking what LOL means - loads of luck, loads of love, lots of luck, loads of luck, last one laughing, lots of laughs - and so on....

It is basically 'glider pron'. It comes from places that have keyword filters that would recognise 'pron' and block/report it. 'pron' was used first, then when the filters were adapted to be more intelligent the 'o' became a zero - most filters ignore chunks of text with a digit in as they 'can't be words'.

LOL is definitely 'Laugh Out Loud'. I suppose the short version of the reason for using things like that is that it reinforces the sense of belonging to a community who are 'in the know'.

And I see that the RCMF filters have changed P O R N to pron wherever I spelt it correctly. A perfect example.
