Got some old bike spokes. Will try and make up a sight today, let's hope the solder sticks.

I thought I'd try this lash-up using an old cycle helmet, a Joby Gorilla Pod, and SWMBO's Fujifilm Finepix T200 camera.  The Gorilla Pod is secured with a couple of tie-wraps.

The camera is easily detached and re-mounted, which is useful as I'll have to reset the zoom every time it's switched on.

Experimenting with the setup in the garden this afternoon videoing gulls flying overhead, it appeared that 4x zoom is probably the max zoom for smooth recording.

However, I'm wondering if the camera sits a bit high and might catch on the wing of a 2m or 3m plane during solo launch.

Saw these guys at the Auto sport show last weekend. Had some nice cameras and head mounting gear. There little bullet HD seemed very nice for the money (£90)

I just upgraded my headcam to a Contour HD 1080 which works very well. I utilizes two laser beams to help with orientation and has a nice big on/off slider to use with gloved hands. The front of the lens rotates so you do not have to move the camera to realign the orientation. Here's a short vid incorporating some Contour footage spliced into an earlier vid. I zeroed the Contour in at home but in the background clutter of my lounge didn't notice a small piece of the helmet visor sticking out into the frame - an easy fix and all part of the learning experience. The panning shot at the beginning of the vid is from the Cobra's on board camera.

I don't 'think' anything.............just repeating their description of the item.
If you have an issue with it, maybe you should contact the seller and point out what you see is a discrepancy?  ;)

After reading this:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-definition_video which suggests that the minimum HD standard is 1280x720,   I've just asked the seller what they meant by HD in the context of their advert.

I'm wondering if the price of the item is 33 quid because it includes an 8GB card, making the actual price of the glasses the same as all the rest.

However, if the repro from 720x480 is good enough for what we want (for instance, some of the cheap keychain cams seem to do surprisingly well) , they might be a bargain in that keeping the camera pointed at the plane should be easy.

The answer I got is:  "yes you're right that was a typo"
