Just about seals it.

These are the batteries I was on a about - for a DLG with a small fuz these seem too good to be true.

I'm looking for a new ELF as well (same site) now the price has dropped its really good value.

Both are good txes. You'd be happy with either.
Purely depends on if you want telemetry or not.

well I think it depends on whether you want to pay stupid price for futaba RXs but have the option of cheap 3rd party RXs.  Or if you want a system with Rxs prices somewhere in the middle with telemetry.

Of course - it really does help if you actually put the link to the batteries .... Jeese..

Rxes are a red herring. I have both Futaba and fr sky's. Both are excellent. And cheap. And my
Signal reception is 100%, never lost a plane yet.
For me moving away from that would be a risk.
I guess you only know that once you are familiar with a particular system.
Can't vouch for hitec, but can for Futaba, and I use it a lot, I wore out all three tx pots on my old 6ex in 6 months.

Think you are making the right choice there Phil, just about everyone whos got an A9 is very happy with them, and with your ability with a computer you will have no problems with updates etc.

I think it has battery voltage.

I thought that was dropped on the lite.

i'm pretty sure it has the same functionality as the normal optima 6. It has an spc socket.

Optima Receivers - Light Weight. Optima_6 LITE Transceiver, Minima 6E & 6T Micro Receivers...
.. Minima are compatible only with Spectra Module V3.01 or higher.
Optima are all transceivers,  the 6 lite is identical to the 6 except for the case. The Minima are receivers and do not have any telemetry.

To make a 9ch "lite" refer to
Optima Transceiver - Conversion Lighten 6ch for Indoor & Park-Flyers plus Alternate Light Weight 2.4GHz Antenna.
Hitec "Factory Pilot" Brandon Chitty uses the Optima 7 in his indoor competition Fancy Foam Maxima that weighs 8oz, as well as his 170CC DA powered 42% Aeroworks Yak.

Aurora 9 purchased - let the fun begin

First impressions; Ive never seen so many dangly bits and levers and switches. The menu's are very intuitive and I love the touch screen. Nice touch, your name coming up on opening screen - very useful as there are a couple of us who now have them.

Thank you very much to everyone who contributed ... great info

Tom, can you assign a slider to the ratio of a pmix? Without flicking through menus? So I can adjust the value of elevator compensation in landing condition ?

Not trying to Hijack the thread with a sandal-attack (honest!) but if this feature is important to you then consider a Multiplex Evo - you have two digi-adjusters that can be assigned to almost any numeric value (mix ratios, end points, rates, offsets etc) so that tgings like flap-elevator compensation, rudder mixing or flapperon settings become a matter of just "fly, trim out using the digi-ajuster and the job is done". None of the Fly, try, land, change setting, fly, try, land, change setting....etc  that can be so tedious!

But having said that I suspect that this one feature won't outweigh the system and (more to the point) Rx price disadvantages of the Evo for your application.
