Any recommends fro servos in wing fro Gulp. 
I was thinking of these.

Ordered Gulp SR,

48 or 60?

I've gone for savox although had good and bad experiences since. Enjoy the long and un-satisfying build..! :-))

Wow matt, £48 for a servo, wont be getting them then!

MyselF, I'd put in regular (ie analogue) HS 85 mg's.

Proven by the test of time to have good centering, smooth operation and be pretty bomb proof.
Plus they won't break the bank.

Got HS81MG's in mine and it's been fast enough to win the odd race now or then.

However these days I fit the MG16R's in my planks and they are a superb servo. Actually just put two in my new Acromaster too.

you don't want cheep GC servos in a plank as access to keep replacing them is a pain,a good old 85MGs will out last your covering, by the time it looks tatty and need recovering they will still be slop free and in good working order, I would advise you use arms off standard size servos on the 85s unless you plane to sheath the arms just snapping an arm can also be a real pain on a nicely finished plank
that's why don't finish mine nicely

Why do you equate cheap servos with poor quality?
Have you used MG16R's? They are less than half the price and probably as good or maybe even better than HS85MG's. Digital too which helps with accurately setting up planks.

Every cheap servo I've had has been rubbish and I've had a few. With servos you get what you pay for.

I too use cheap servos in planes that dont take to much abuse, dont get flown to there limits etc
In my alula
in my easy glider
but you put £3 servos in a combat wing and you will need to replace them the first time you hit the deck
Carp they are not, but great they are not ether
I have been through a few sets of 82MGs before replacing them all with 85s
an 85 is just a good reliable tried and tested small powerful servo at a reasonable price
I have used all sorts of old Carp servos in old Carp planes but I would not put a cheap servo in a new plane with new covering and NO ACCESS !

I certainly don't knock some cheap servos. I've had great service from one of my favourires for smaller models- Giant Cod's E-Power 12g Metal Geared Micro Servo (not the digi version, burns out too much) at £5.80 ea.

I think the MG16R has been around for a while. I put a couple on the wing of my Suraci- never stripped them but after a while they got some slop.
Myself, I'd rather spend an extra £10 per servo in a plank than maybe have to dig out at a later date to replace.

I should have said...the £ 16 savox in my gulp. I agree with most others regarding the 85mgs. Just put them in my ubermoth and seem good.

I have these in my Gulp SR and M60's, not had a failure yet, I think they are better than the 85MG's & 82MG's

Got the Savox in my Halfpipe, can't wait to get them out and replace the buzzy, noisy, ill centering little *%£$! Just don't fancy doing it at the moment.

Might give the Towerpro's a go but I was going to use HS85's otherwise. Having snapped a couple of servo arms combating the H, I was thinking of using metal arms?

Ok mixed feelings then, Ive gone for the towerpros.

Youv e got to listen to Yellow Blue & Skirmish get them servos
they are well tested up at Tinkers.

And dont forget these Yorkshire folk dont waste their brass lad.

Just for completeness, I have used MG16Rs in my last half dozen or so planks too and I really rate them. Think it was me who introduced both Skirmish and Yellow Blue to them actually.

They are a touch thinner than HS85s (11.9mm v 12.83mm, according to my digital verniers) so easier to fit in thin sections and I have yet to have one fail.

The only minor reservation I have is that the trims seem to move a bit with temperature changes - only really noticeable when the weather changes dramatically between flying sessions.

Never stripped the gears but I have broken a couple of output arms so I think the weak link is in the right place - needs to be when you fly with the likes of Ronnie, Brian and Tuckers. I can't say the same about HS82s, HS 85s, HS5125s or even 3150s!

And its not really a big deal to dig them out of a foamie anyway, is it?

But no - I have yet to bring myself to use them in an expensive airframe, despite my good experience of them

I have owned both a gs48 and a gv60 in kit form but never built them. As foam gliders go both kits, by the looks of it, required more construction and more technique than other stuff I have seen, but nothing too terrifying. The AMT on the gs48 looked a bit tricky though.

Ah so you prolly had my gv60 originally maybe.
Quite fancy a build of a plank, poss the sr -t 60. Saw one at the barcs labelled as a gulp, but not sure it was. wish I'd bought it, it looked great. The fuse was much more chunky than my  m60. Was this the standard sr? It looked perhaps Twice as wide. Would give greater strength. Maybe it wasn't a gulp tho. The sr looks about same size as the m60 was in those pics. I'd wager it's about as complex as the m60, but with a 2 piece wing perhaps?

The Gulp - plank - is (was?) available in three basic formats, possibly with thin fuz variants thrown in.

The Gulp DS is a 60" plank with a relatively long, fat  fuz, a straight LE and a swept forward TE, single taper wing.

As with all Gulps, it also has a symmetrical foam fin.

The SR has a double taper wing with a straight TE and therefore a kinked LE.

The SRT was basically an SR with plug-in wings, built to pack smaller and be "transportable".

The one I built was an SRT, but I balked at the complex spar and built it one piece.

All these are really nice to fly , beautifully made kits, that need a bit of work to do them justice.

The GV 48 and GV60 are not planks, and not - strictly - Gulps at all.

I've not built one of these but I have seen them fly and, TBH, they are not a patch on the planks for speed or turning ability, but they do fly really well too.

I would say they would make great sport models, but their racing pedigree is a bit lacking, and I would not fancy putting one together...

Certainly, the fuzes on the plank variants are much fatter than an M60, beautifully presented circular pieces of EPP sculpture great you when you open the box..

Tim, I'm thinking of a plank for learning DS. So thinking of a sr48 or sr60. I can't be done with setting up an m60, too complicated. Fancy building one myself, Ill keep my gv60 for aeros. So perhaps I need the Gulp DS, but then again I want a two piece wing for transport convenience. So perhaps SRT60 is the one to go for.

If you are wanting to learn DS it would be worth your while checking out a JW too - assuming they are still available.

Or one of Ron Broughtons creations, or take a leaf out of Adam Richardsons portfolio..

DS is still pretty specialised and at the cutting edge.

I am no expert, but I can tell you that it is much easier with a conventional 2m ish mouldie than it is with an EPP plank.

As with most bits of this sport though, the best advice is to find someone who knows what they are doing and get him to stand by you and talk you through your first circuits.

I freely acknowledge the help and advice I got from Ron and Adam in this respect - thanks guys in public!
