HI ronnie, think you might have to do a North/South split this year what with the price of fuel.  :study:

Yes, me please Ronnie :af When you say newbies, how noob is too noob to race? I have a 2nd hand M60 which I'm still getting to grips with, kindly sold to me at HoH earlier this year (bargain), and needs a bit of TLC (work in progress), and I've yet to fly her with any ballast on board. I've only witnessed one of these race meets, so I think it's fair to say that I'm greener than the greenest bits of any hill  :embarassed: but hey, someone has to come last don't they? At the moment I work alternate Sundays, but can be free most Saturdays, and I am keen to do progress further in this fine hobby/sport.

Finishing the race is the most important. more so in light conditions. You may be at the back, but if the leader fall out the sky, you have beet him. I found slow and steady a good place to start. then when you are comfortable you will get better, and better.
As long as you can fly from a to b and back without going behind the safety line, you are ripe enough.

You'll definitely get plenty of help, what i found most helpful was the little bit of coaching some of the more experienced racers gave me when they acted as caller. It really helped calm the nerves and sharpen reflexes. It's great fun and will really improve your flying skills as well as introducing you to a rather decent bunch of guys.

To date, HoH, Levisham, and occasionally Baildon Hill. I'm looking to maybe join the Tinkers mob in the new year, and I'm also a member of the NYMRSC. Oh and York Racecourse for flat field foamy abuse.

I'd be interested if you added the long mynd to the itinerary. Or something nearer the midlands. Perhaps that could be halfway house for north/welsh/midlands participants?

Jimbo
We held the 60" Epp Nats at the Long Mynd this year. And we had a very poor entry.
So i'm not too sure  if we will hold another race there in 2012.

We have a core of about 7-8 guys that are travelling the length ond breadth of the country competing in these events, its a great weekend of racing for all.
What we need is the local guys to turn up and have a go, who knows we might even find  our next National champion out of them.
I'm not asking people to sign up to doing all of the events, but i would like to see the
local guys turn up and have a go. (i could go on for hours)

Cheers mate, will do. We've probably met, but I'm terrible at remembering names and faces. It'll sink in once I've been around you guys a few times. Ro (RGPuk) got me into this sloping lark, so he's responsible for corrupting me ;)

Now Ro's moving into the big boy league (mouldies) he's got me wanting to follow suit too (all his fault  ::)). I made the mistake of letting SWMBO see the luverly pretties (Stega etc.) I was ogling over on my laptop, while doing research, alas she also noticed how much they cost  :o but at least it should be easier to convince her that I'll need a new (cheaper) 60" model at some point, once I get the hang of things  ;)

Hi Guys
Martin has posted the dates for the F3F League events. As usual we will run the 60” Epp events on the Saturdays. You will notice that the Huddersfield round will probably be held at the Hole of Horcum this year due to the loss of access.  You will also see a new venue, Scotland, not too sure where yet.
See you all on the 3rd
Ronnie

March:
•   3th March Wales BMFA League 1
April:
•   28th April Huddersfield BMFA League 2 (This may be moved to HoH if required due slope access issues)
May:
•   12thMay Hole of Horcum BMFA League 3
June:
•   9thJune WhiteSheet  BMFA league 4
July:
•   15th July Scotland BMFA League 5
September:
•   9th September LYMD BMFA League 6
