I wanted to put a 40% dead zone on my snap flaps
but found you cant have asymmetrical with a dead zone only symmetrical, I wanted plenty of snaps in my up elevator but only the usual reflex for speed in my down

I decided the symmetrical snaps was worth a co just to have a dead zone on he elevator but found the off set on the flaps came in to play and end up with loads of up flap and alittle everything else  >:(

any thoughts
(did not put in TX area as only glider related)

Fly it Like it's Stolen

Allen,
There is a thread about this from the dim and distant past ...
http://www.rcmf.co.uk/4um/index.php/topic,72578.msg822951.html#msg822951

I use this technique ... so for my own AIL and FLAP mix ... I have elevator in the mix twice
Once with asymmetrical throws ...
Once with symmetrical throws ... with a deadband.

The idea is to have a lot of snapflap with the asym throws ...
but negate it with the sym throw ... once the deadband is passed.
so snapflap comes in strong .. but fades off.

You also have to balance the reflex snapflap with the "up" asymmetrical throw.
A rubbish description .. .I know ... but I hope it helps. RustyKnee Stu was the brains behind this ....
The obvious drawback is that it takes up an extra the input to the ail / flap mixes.
I can send you through my "typical" settings if it will help.
J
