An error has occurred!
« on: April 21, 2012, 17:31:19 PM »
While i fully understand and accept the fact that files uploaded here have to be restricted in size, cant we do something about what happens if you attach a photo ,( inadvertantly) larger than 550kb? I often quickly download photos onto my pc before going off somewhere, meaning to resize them later. Its happened a couple of times lately that i have written a long post by my standards, added a couple of photos only to lose the whole bloody lot because " AN ERROR HAS OCCURED"   >:(

Couldnt the text of your post be saved that you dont need to retype the whole lot???

Its always a good idea to copy & paste any long post to word or something just in case.

It is, but it would be a nice touch to have some sort of automatic or manual save draft thing going on, while image posting or not.

I know it's down to the forum software itself though, so unless it's a feature which hasn't been enabled it's too big a change to be done locally.

I'm not sure why images can't be rescaled/resized on the server though, it would be a useful thing to offer when you have a non-techie readership.

It's a fair point and one which has caught me out a few times. We'll put it on the "to look at" list.
The buck stops here.
