Servos for Stingray?
« on: April 29, 2012, 16:12:12 PM »
Hi all. Well I have finally made my mind up. I am getting a X-models Stingray HS :af. I was just wondering what servo setup I should run. I want a servo with as little play as possible without spending stupid money on them.
Cheers, Mark

Hmmm. My flying buddy has a Stingray, and in the right air, it's fast...VERY fast..It's also quite a weighty machine. If it were me I wouldn't compromise a £700 model with crappy servos. I think totalled up including the 2.4 MPX radio install it was around a grand.

Kryten: Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb.

I didn't mean to say crappy.. :embarassed: I meant 'less expensive'.. But it's fewer syllables.  :)..

I'm sure you'll not put crappy servos in. From watching JV's though; it's a fantastic thing to watch; he hasn't yet got round to letting me have a play...But I'm sure he will.. :study:

Try here for some suggestions.  There is a tab for Stingray and there are photos of what I've done with mine.

Cheers for that Iain. I will need all the help I can get to build the old girl. I sorted my servos out last night. There are just so many options $%&. Just hope I have made the right choice lol.
Cheers,
Mark

There's always one.
You're lucky to be in the privileged position to choose servos for such a beast!

Thank you.

Most are in the Purbecks.  But there are several on the Dorset/Wiltshire border too - Win Green.
