Wot 4 wing chord

I have a Mk 3 (tapered wing) Wot 4 I built a few years ago and I have the remains of an ARTF mk 2 that I flew literally to death earlier this year (don't ask, but it was a 'professional' and comprehensive destruction
).
I quite like the idea of scratch building a new Mk2 wing using the remains of the ARTF as a pattern. When I offered up the damaged centre section to my kit-built fuselage I was surprised to note that, whilst it fitted OK at the front, the back, where the mounting bolts go, is about 35mm (1 3/8") short. I think I can overcome that somehow and suspect the tapered wing has a wider root and narrower tip than the parallel wing.
Is it the case the Mk3 does indeed have a wider root chord, or does the ARTF have a narrower one than the kit-built Wot 4s of both types?
btw I'm very impressed with construction of the ARTF wing. The ribs are light-ply yet IIRC it was very light. It was certainly strong - nothing could have survived the thump I gave it

Hi Geoff
The tapered wing and parallel wing was (is) interchangeable on the built up version.
I purchased a tapered wing from CF and it fitted exactly my original fus built for a parallel wing.
The chord is 12"
Hope this helps

Thanks JJ. I thought the two wing types were interchangeable. The ARTF Wot 4 wing chord is only 11 1/8". The measurement I gave above is the distance between the fixing hole positions of the two wings - they are farther in on the ARTF wing.
Looks like the ARTF Wottie is a slightly different design from the kit version.

If I remember correctly, the Mk2 wottie wing was 11" chord. When the Mk 3 was introduced with the tapered wing an alternative was available with a parallel chord wing. This, I think was referred to as the 'Classic' and the chord was the same as the root chord of the Mk3. The RTF version is modelled on the Mk2.
Hope this makes sense.
