Well then here we are
Friday already and I have unwanted news, having got reports from our club sec and another member with access to local weather,I live 35 miles away the weather for Sunday is....rubbish... strong winds which at Ashbourne s altitude means gales and heavy showers
So the early decision is to postpone I hope you're all ok with this but it has worked well in the past so fingers crossed for the 20th
Apologies but I know how bad the weather can get up there
Ps let anyone you know please
Pops this means the list is still open
Dont blame you... :banghead: Britain, eh?
Yep I'm sat here now seeing sunshine at front of house listening to rain on widows at back
Planning has shifted gear to next week and weather booked
Hope your all ok with delay but i have been on field in bad weather it ain't fun up there
you keep widows out back? Sounds like a good place.. 30 miles away here and the sun is peeping out and its flat calm..
Good call Chris, see yers on the 20th. :af

No problem if you are,t on list.we have space
So charge up pack car and see you all Sunday
A little late but I'd like to thank you, John Lewis and anyone else involved with the Ashbourne club for organising yet another superb event. It's always a great day regardless of weather. Thumbs up and see you next year for the same again. I'm starting my sun and calm winds dance now.... !
Thanks for the feedback we do our best
We are looking at a few ideas for next year as this year for the first time ever we made a loss on catering, this is self funded and not through the club, Cheff John funds mmost of it and this year due to many issues quite a few could not attend.
So a few questions for you all are we ok with the time of year we picked Oct as a quiet time reclashing with other events
It's been suggested that a general flyin might be better, personally I like the scale day format it's a little different
Likewise a warbirds fly in others have done these
So any ideas, thoughts will be most welcome
Do we need to cater or just do tea coffee etc
Cheers all. Many thanks to all attendees
Big thanks to Cheff for food
Geoff for gate duties and Richie for use of his gently for the most important piece of equipment the te urn
Sorry to hear you made a loss. How much? I'll contribute to making the debt zero.
John Lewis and his food are one of the attractions of the event; where else can you be waited on like that for pennies! Its a strong part of the day!
I don't think there's anything wrong with the format etc ... just the weather put folk off I suppose and a little late in the year. Maybe try having it early like April or summat like that? (although April showers i know). But you'd have April/May to aim at? Having said all that I do like it in October as season finale.
I'd welcome a bit of a fun thing during the day - like a limbo or spot landing type of thing.
I have been a past attender, missed last year due to health issues and couldn't be there this year due to family events.
Always really liked the scale format and low key organisation. Sorry to hear that the chef lost money this year, I much prefer something hot on the day rather than a pack up. I think on the three years that I have been it has been a near flat calm day with only a bit of lingering fog slowing things down one year.
I hope that the event continues and that the format doesn't change.
I would leave the format the same, just move the date forward a month.
Its always been well attended in the past.
