Hi folks. I'm looking for some feedback.
I had used Phoenix flight sim for years since version 1.0. However I see that since it's take over by a US company it has now become unsupported and some are reporting issues under Win 10. I want something to keep my eye in while I overwinter in Egypt and now any form of RC flying has been outlawed here for security reasons.
I was considering buying the Realflight RF8 with Interlink-X transmitter. Does anyone have experience with this that could share.
I am using an HP Envy laptop with an Intel i5 2.5 cpu. This is way more capable than my old Toshiba that I first used sucessfully with Phoenix.
Hoping someone has some comments.

Late to the party I know, but in the absence of comment, I have no issues at all running Phoenix under Win10.

I have also not had any trouble getting several others going who have been stuck with Win 10 installation either, and that without ANY cleverness at all on my part, so I would suggest that those who do are likely to be pretty computer clueless, and are skewing the perception of the program by complaining.  :ev  ;D

It amazes that people are so clueless about the USB dongle and expect it to run without one.  One club member who moaned bitterly and at great length was trying to use a Taranis with no lead at all "because it had a computer connection"   ::)

OK, so Horizon Hobbies bought it and then killed it so no further development, but it still works as well as it did sans of course the HH server for multiplayer.  HUGE amount of planes etc on RCG.

+1 on Phoenix flight sim working with Windows 10.

No problems here.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Unfortunately I have lost my Phoenix updates when I replaced my laptop. I still have the original CD version 1.X but that is not going to get me far as there are no official updates anymore since Horizon took over and dumped it!
Any suggestions as to where I might still find the updates to 5.5 or whatever?

I have a zip of 5.5 but it's 1.5Gb.  I'll see if I can find the site that I dowmloaded it from.  That or I could post it on a 2Gb USB stick.
I think this was the download site: http://sf.420.nz/phoenix/Phoenix%20DVD%20V5.5.zip which I found on https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=725757 , thanks go to Astroslug on the Helifreak site.

Many thanks RobC. I have downloaded and unzipped the files from the link you provided.
I will have to wait until I get back to France at the end of next month as my dongle lead is there and it will no doubt be required to validate the installation.
I will try to find sources for additional models now.

10 minutes later:
That didn't take long a quick search and I have found loads.
