I wish you, and all the guys here, a happy new year too. All the luck in 2020.

Unfortunally I cannot  come on the dates at Tibenham model events this year.  They don't match with important dates of mine.
The whole month May and June I am in Portugal.
17th  July I am leaving for Tsjechië.
The 19th Semptember it is Ria's, my wife, Birthday.

I am very sorry, because I would come this year with my A-26B Invader.

Many regards,
Jan

Dear Jan
A great shame that you can not come over this year
we would all liked to have seen your magnificent Invader.

At least we got to see your exquisite B17 and P61 Black Widow
on the two occasions you did come over to the UK.
I can't thank you enough for bringing your wonderful models
over to my humble events on two occasions.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think a multiple times
scale champion would come over from Holland to my events.

So once again thank you very much.

Dear All
I received word from the RAF events team,
that unfortunately my bid for a flypast
has been unsuccessful.

Let's hope that the Coronavirus crisis will be over by July  :xx

nmacwarbirds

Let's hope so Brian.
The loss of life is so, so sad and none of us have
ever had to live through anything like this.

Hopefully when this is over, we will all appreciate
what we have and try to be kinder to each other.

Dear All
I hope you are all doing Ok?
It is 4 weeks today until this event is due to take place.

At the moment I can't say whether this event will be able to go a head or not.
Obviously I am approaching it like it will go a head, I am one of those
people where the glass is always half full.

I will always abide by the recommendations, hopefully they might have been eased
by mid-July. We will obviously have to make some changes regarding distancing but
there is nothing we can't sort out.

Something new I would like to add to this event after the normal flying has finished, is an hour or so of free flight, you can thank Mark Hinton for that. All the master pieces
he keeps producing. This would be open to rubber, CO2 and electric.

Before anyone starts flaming me, I will be led by the rules and the science.

I wouldn't bother with the science, the government hasn't been for the last few weeks. Mainly because they don't have the slightest idea what science is. And that's not a political statement, it is a generalisation about almost all our politicians, of whatever party.

Hope tosee you there!

Screw the science.... The important question is: Will the café be open for a bacon and eggs breakfast?   :study:

Dear All,
I received word from Rachel at Tibenham,
that their long term member Berkeley passed away yesterday.
I was really shocked to hear that news. Berkeley has given me tremendous help with my events over many years.

As well as being a glider pilot he was also a keen modeller
and he always made a point of dropping in at all the model events.
Another sad loss for the aviation fraternity, I will miss him dearly.
Rest in peace Berkeley.

Hallo Phil,

I have good memories of Berkeley from my visits of a very helpful humourous old school gentleman. I know none of us are getting any younger but it still comes as a surprise when such news is received.

Plans this year are very open but it seems most if not all events are being cancelled. i do hope you will be rewarded for all your hard work at this and the other events you organise.

PS the Zwillinge is still flying !

Dear All
Due to the recent government advice regarding the corona virus.
the Salute to the 445th Bomb Group has been rearranged for
Friday the 14th of August 2020 at Tibenham airfield Norfolk NR16 1NT
The cafe will be open obviously with social distancing rules
and what ever measures are deemed necessary by the owners.
I said I would be lead by the rules and the science and that is what I have done.

We are all desperate to get fully going again.
I think with a little bit more patience we will get there.
Obviously I respect others views which may differ from mine.
So it is up to the individual to make up their mind,
if they want to attend or not.

This virus unfortunately is not going away anytime soon,
so we have got to carefully learn to live with it.

Regards Phil G.

Charles, can you change the date to the new one in the heading
and heading page please. I have just received a pm from someone
wanting to attend on the old date. It is confusing people.

Dear All
I received a pm from Essential RC expressing an interest
in attending this event. Everyone is welcome at my events.

So we will now have potentially four high class video/photographers present.
At least we should have plenty of pictures.

particularly with the CAA.

Are you by any chance the Biker Don who is a member
of the NGC?

Sadly no, but my optician Peter Gerber is... 😀

Dear All
I hope everyone is OK with me posting this here?

I went around to see one of my modelling friends this afternoon, to see if he had 180 four stroke for my 1/6th scale MR Spit. Unfortunately he had all kinds of engines but not a 180.
It was like walking into a modelling sweet shop.
If anyone is interested he has all kinds of things for sale.

Topflite DC3 (BNIB)
TF 1/7th scale Mustang with B conversion kit BNIB
TF 1/7th scale Sea Fury BNIB

Midwest 82 span Harvard with retracts BNIB
CMP 81 inch span Harvard with retracts BNIB

Thank you Phil i spoke to Tony tonight and its a Nieuport 28 for sale not a 17.
Thank you anyway for your patience.

I will amend the post.

Dave as a matter of interest what is the difference
between the 17 and the 28?

Agent P

I'm guessing the 28 is a more modern version, and i have the seagull model its a camo scheme with the red and white cowl on it.
What i was really after was the N17 from the Flyboys movie its a french squadron Silver scheme and i think it looks lovely.
The N17 is a sesqui? plane ie 1 and a half wings, not sure about the N28 mine seagull model looks like a proper biplane.Did think it was too good to be true at that price as pegasus price for N17 is 725 i believe.

Dear All

Dear All
Here are the guidelines for the Salute to the 445th BG model event to be held at Tibenham airfield Norfolk NR16 1NT on Friday the 14th of August 2020.
I have given this careful thought and I have also sought advice from two long term Friends/attendees of my events.
This is what I/we have come up with. I know this may not please everyone but these measures are not taken lightly and are designed for the greater good of everyone.

1) It would be helpful for all those wishing to attend the event if they could register their interest before the event, this will give us an idea of the likely numbers. It would also make less paperwork on the day. See point 3. You can register via messenger, email or pm.

2) Social distancing as recommended by government guidelines must be observed at all times.

3) Those attending must be prepared to give their name and a phone number. Failure to do so will result in automatic exclusion. These details will be destroyed 15 days after the event.

4) Car parking, vehicles must be parked 2mtrs apart.
There is plenty of room at Tibenham.

5) Number of models in the air at one time.
This will be decided on the day, once we have had a measure up.

6) Those attending will be asked/advised to bring along their own hand sanitizer.

7) Although I will make every effort to make this event as safe as possible, those attending will do so at their own risk.

8) No one shall touch anyone else's property unless asked to do so.

The cafe will be open as usual. I am sure Eddie and Rachel will be following government guidelines.

The SRG1308 came through from the CAA yesterday, we have got a ceiling of 1700ft.

Something new for this year. After the RC flying has finished around six to six thirty. Free flight / small RC will take place. The free flight is open to rubber, co2 and electric.

We have all had a difficult year, a days flying with friends and like minded people would make a nice respite for us all. However I do understand that some people might find this a 'bridge too far' and may not wish to attend, each person will have to make their own minds up about that.

As always I will try my best to make it a good day for everyone.

Regards Phil Goff

Dear All
I was contacted today by Byron A. long term supporter
of my events both at Coltishall and Tibenham. He has crossed over
to fullsize in the last few years. He brought his Starduster Too
biplane to Tibenham a couple of years ago and gave people rides init.

Well to cut a long story short, he is unable to attend this event
but he wanted to give a donation to help pay some of the cost of it.
I told him he had given us enough and there was no need to give
us anything else but he insisted.

So he sent £100 to my paypal account, I found that very humbling.
A very generous gesture for the benefit of others, some he does not even know.
So I thanked Byron from all of us for his very kind and generous donation.
Things like this restores ones faith in humanity.
