    thank you Smiley

i knew the ju-87 very well, my grandfather flew that one , the G-version " kanonenvogel" , at the eastern front in the staffel of rudel.

i just wanted to know which 3-blade prop. would fit nicely in comparison with the FG-36.

I was after one for the previous Stuka. I tracked down a company in the USA that manufactured a turbine siren that was awesome. However it was out of production and no matter how much begging they where not going to manufacture any more.

Cold and windy so another day building, got the fus finished and most of the wing.
The only area I have deviated from the instructions today, is the Bowden cable for the flaps. The in-board flap is linked to the main flap by a piece of Bowden cable (flexible wire). This moves the flap OK but when you apply pressure (simulating air force) the in-board flap can move more 30 degrees. To prevent this I replaced the cable with a piece of solid wire. It took a few attempts to get the angle in the wire right, once sorted it worked nicely and the flap is rigid.

    i have got a question :

on page 39 and 40 in the building manual, they are talking about a 5mm deflection to the right  and a 2 degree rigth deflection...

in the OLD manual there is NO deflection described....

    what shall i do Huh?

The deflection is already built in so what you have to do is off set the engine compensate for the deflection which means move the engine 5mm to one side. I have found the best way which was first described by Ian Redshaw in the Spitfire build. Mount your engine on the engine mounts with the correct distance set from fire wall to prop driver. With the plane standing vertical place the engine assembly on the fire wall, slide the cowl over the engine, place the spinner back plate on the engine the align the engine to the front face of cowl. Remove the back plate and cowl with out disturbing the engine position, mark the engine mount positions and drill. If you struggle to keep the engine in place the using a long bolt attached to the engine mount, clamp the assembly through the hole in the fire wall.

Just wanted to say I picked up my Stuka this week and it is absolutely brill ::cc
Top quality stuff from the finish to the hardware and even the instructions. The service and advice given by the guys at YT was first class and as a first time customer of YT I could not be more pleased.

Hope my buildings skills can now do it justice Undecided

thanks for pointing this out,   doesnt look enough does it?  after all, with this scale plane, we have to offset the weight of a junkers jumo engine, gearbox, 3blade metal prop, and all sorts of gubbins,  and keepp the scale moment arms,    hope martin has considered this

perhaps you know of a source for these miniture parts we can use?

It took some time for some one to pick up on it. The engine engine mount and lead are as it came out of another plane and as the back of the engine mount to firewall was the same distance as that required for the Stuka I decided to leave everything as it was. Could see no point in removing some thing I might need in the future.

Could take this as a compliment too I guess....acknowledging YT's reluctance to change the scale look to to something that look hideous but still maintaining a good flying model.  Whats a bit of weight between friends

ok, the engine is here Smiley

    it is a SAITO FG-36

BUT : i have still the problem with the deflections :(

sorry for my bad english, but i dont understand the instructional manual.

i dont know what to do.... shall I do the deflections ( 5mm to the left with a 2° degree deflection to the right )  or are the deflections where made by stock  Huh?

on one of the pictures in the manual you can see that there is a 5mm deflection to the left and a 2° degree deflection to the right , on later pictures it looks like there is NO deflection and the motor looks centered .

in case that I must do the deflections, is it ok to deflect the engine 5mm to the left with a 2° degree deflection to the right ??

    cheers,

The deflections are built in (in stock). What you will need to do is make allowance for the deflection by moving the engine to one side.

Dont worry about your English it is far better than my German will ever be.

Hopefully the wing will be finished tonight, just need to connect the ailerons and fit the stoll slats, bomb and cannons.

The Stuka is ready to go, with the battery above the engine she has balanced without any ballast. With the stoll slats fitted in the correct position the cannons can not be fitted. Not to worry the cannons where not on this mark anyway.
