Anyone know anything about it?Apparently some sceadu parts are the same, new scaled down turbulence head. Now has an 8mm feathering spindle, new tail gearbox, option to move the tail servo inboard.Available in hpm and swm versions, new canopy , beefed up side frames, new radio tray, new tank. ::cc

Hirobo in all their wisdom,or not, have not used the D3 turbulence's 2 piece clutch system, which seems very strange, as nobody really liked the sceadu's 1 piece clutch :o

steamysheep

cool.... had a great day with my sceadu today..  ::cc ::cc ::cc ::cc

any links or pics to the new model.. :xx :xx
Keeping my chin up!

johnny

Not yet, just got off the phone with a mate of mine who is a Hirobo distributor.Said it is not a rumour, saw one at the Toyfair in Germany.Price tba, but in the same sort of ballpark as the sceadu, just depends on how strong the yen is.Would make sense because i made some enquiries into getting a sceadu 50 ex from him,(the carbon and ally bling bling sceadu) only to be told it was discontinued.I asked him because i haven't seen one since i moved back to the UK.Had seen them in South Africa and they were more common in Dubai than the Freya 90 evo's.

johnny

About $425. ::cc
4 pages of thread on Runryder about it, meaning about a tenth of a page of usefull info

payne1967

its pictured on runryder as well

to sell in the uk it must be priced correctly with cheap spares and be able to fly very well

there will be no question about quality and it will fly well
i've seen prices quotes around $450 in the usa so lets hope rip off britian doesn't get the £1 = $1 factor by the uk dealers

if it doesn't get near trex 600 money it won't sell in great numbers
and then the trex fans need to have the align is best removed from their brains ;D

johnny

Yes, i know what you mean ::)
I can get a d3 for about £150 cheaper than it is available here.Go figure.Probably could get 10% for cash over and above that,Yep we really get ripped here :'(

Nice to think there might be a decline in TREX 600's though ::cc

payne1967

anything like my 600 they will be all worn out by the end of the year
mines only 18 months old and worn out
my sceadu is 7 years old with very little wear :)

align may have cheap spares but it wears out very quickly

johnny

Sorry to hear about you trying to shorten your Freya blades $%&

payne1967

there's no try about it
i did it with style  :nananana:
its the first crash with it in owning it for 5 years
but just before i bought it i did rip the tail blade holders off it flying too low to the ground

johnny

Proper job ::)
Cannot find cable to download pic's of quadrotor :( Will get the missus to see if she can find it , or will go get another one latter in the week.

Stuey wanted pics of the new sceadu 50 sdx. There is a pdf file available from Hirobo with some info and pictures. 0403-951 sdx english.  ::cc ::cc

payne1967

with a part number starting 0403
it looks like its the gph346 replacement as the gph's spares are numbered 0403-wxyz

johnny

payne1967

lets hope it doesn't have the gph's price tag to go with the part number
or are they just using up all the gph spares?

johnny

I've looked at quite a few pic's of it, mostly sceadu parts or totally new.Like the look of the optional header tank.Canopy doesn't look too bad either :co

payne1967

the frames look like the sceadu but we're told they are an updated design
and the front servo tray is changed
and the turbulene type head (which looks very close to the vario/graupner/logo heads)
and they've put the rudder servo in the right, up front out the way of the exhaust smoke/oil :)

johnny

As far as i could see the tail servo is only in the front on the swm version, hpm version is still on the boom.

payne1967

i've only looked at the swm pictures

johnny

Time will tell.Pretty sure parts will be interchangeable.Am going to build up that third Sceadu i picked up the other week and convert to the sdx spec head and tail, canopy etc.IF i like it i will change the other two as well.No point in selling them and replacing them, have a fortune invested in Sceadu parts ;)

johnny

Yep :co
That be the beast in question

johnny

Have been working out what parts i need to order to convert to a sdx.Alot of it is already available under different part numbers, all the bearings are available from modelfixings, only one that was a bit tricky, not listed, but they have got it  :af
See the tail now uses 5mm thrust and radial bearings up from the sceadu's 3mm.Blade holders and hub reasonably priced. :af

payne1967

i'm using the gph tail hub and blade holders on my sceadu
and i use the gph tail box on my scale machines where the orginal tail box is to large for the shell
the only thing with the gph tail blade grips is that they don't have a thrust race in them but i haven't had a problem as yet with them

were did you get the parts list for the sdx?

johnny

Using turbulence part numbers for the tail and some of the head parts, spoke to my mate in South Africa with some of the plastic parts.Only bearing that did not show up was 2500-055,but it is available od 10mm id 5mm and 4mm thick, on the tail hub.Tail conversion +-£35 without blades.89 tooth maingear also now available 0412-291.There is also an 18tooth tailpulley available 0414-119, also an 18 tooth countergear 0414-413.So now you can use 79tor 80t second gear with 16,17, or 18t countergear and then 16 or 18t tailpulleys.Tailbladeholders 0414-494,tailhousing 0414-495, 2 thrust bearings 2500-082, and 4 bearings 2500-055. ;)

johnny

Major boost to my sdx today ;D ;D ;DYeeee haaa, now we are cooking with gas ::cc ::cc ::cc

johnny

Available in Germany now,4 versions , 2 nitro,2 electric.
Nitro swm,hpm and electric 6s going for 380 euro's.
10s version 460 euro's.

payne1967

where from in germany?
the swm nitro kit :af
you still buying the 600 airframe?

johnny

Think i must go and get some ssg rounds, shooting myself in the foot must be less payneful than buying your 600 ;D ;D ;D
Found them on the Hirobo online.de website, but would need to find a dealer. You could look on the heliguru forum for a link to a shop. The online.de website also has an exploded view of the d3.

My good news is i found a d3 head on ebay, going to fetch it tonight ::cc ::cc

johnny

Picked up that turbulence head from Mark Christy last night. I see it uses a 4mm Jesus bolt,so will have to redrill the mainshaft. ;)

payne1967

i saw the d3 head and thought about getting it for my freya
but then i decided to stick with the freya head

with all this talk of shooting you never know i may have a mad moment and reinact ww2 but with a heli and kamikaze the 600 into a now famous evo/sdx conversion just for the fun of it :ev :ev :ev

johnny

Well,if you let me have it for less than a box of clay pidgeons,i will do the humane thing and put it out of its misery.Give it both barrels, let it go out with a bang not a wimper ;D ;D ;D
Or are you planning a long and payneful death?

payne1967

who says you will get it in flight first shot? :ev :ev :ev

johnny

A roaring lion catches no game :D
Patience, stealth and perserverance always pay off ;)

payne1967

well look what i found  :ev
but it's not mine :(

johnny

Now that really is the best manouver for a rex ;
Hope its yours, the rex i mean, eventually found out where it belongs ;)
Who's SDX is it?

payne1967

its a photo i found on RR
i think he must be a dealer or fly's for one of the shops

i thought you might like it :)

and :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:customs has had my freya fuel tank mount from the usa
all because ripoffmax don't sell them

johnny

Sorry, bit slow tonight ??? Figure you ordered freya parts from usa, customs has had?
You in for import duty then?penalties?

payne1967

yes customs £7.31 :'( :(
and the bl**dy post office £8 to collect it and want another £12 to deliver it and it cost me $23 in postage from the usa :'( :(
i think i'm having a short drive out to collect it tomorrow
and you never know the freya may be back in the air for an easter thrashing :ev

payne1967

and the photo is the new 3d masters flight pattern
it's called binthetrex

and heliproz in the states has a nice big pallet of sdx's shipping to them :''
