Hello folks. I am sort of a noob - but only sort of. I've been flying rc on and off for about ...er...loads.
I used to be on here a lot back in about 2003 but life got in the way and changed a lot, and I have decided to get back into flying. I am in Manchester and will be joining the Hough end club at the start of the new year.
I've been back a couple of times for natters and it was rather sad to see so many of the stalwarts are now no longer with us, but aeromodelling feels like a good place to be - kind of homely, as well as there being lots of new stuff to learn about. I am mostly a fixed wing kind of person, but do the odd bit of other stuff as well: ( I had to get into cars for a while due to working in a shop that sold and repaired a truckload of the things)
I am particularly fond of pattern ships ( though my flying will take a while to catch up ) and smooth flying but enjoy the odd bit of 3d cavorting too.
Keen on building.
When not playing with toy aeroplanes I am a musician ( drummer ) but not working right now due to health issues. ( I say issues, more like a subscription, to be frank) and I used to have a business building and providing models and replica props to collectors and in some cases to TV shows/museums etc. ( One of the full size Daleks I made appeared on Doctor Who about ten years back. )

Its a bit quieter these days but probably more specific to RC planes than it was 

I heard it had something to do with the terms of their early release....
