Gryshnak's intro
« on: January 02, 2018, 20:15:37 PM »
Hmm, thought I posted this before but it doesn't seem to be there so I'll try again.  My name is Steve but I often go by the username Gryshnak.  I grew up in Australia but now live in the wild lands of East Yorkshire.  I'm primarily an electric flight guy with an affinity for gliders.

About 8 years ago I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease which pretty much put an end to any detailed or fiddly work.  I sold a lot of my gear but kept my favourite bits of kit, in the hope I could one day fly them again.  That time has come and I would like to resume flying activities in summer, if I can.

My overcrowded workshop (and roof space) contains:
- Delta Lady (Mike Trew design, slope soarer)
- BD-5J PSS (Gorritt kit, PSS) x 2
- BD-5S PSS (Gorritt kit, still in box)
- Robbe Vampir
- Sailplanes International Royalist
- FS-26 Moseppl
- Howard Metcalfe F4 Phantom PSS (still in box)
- Dick Edmonds Aurora (I think)
- Wingray (Dragon Aviation, tailless slope soarer)
- Ho229 PSS (own design)
- Ridge Rodent (36" generic slope soarer)
- other stuff which I can't remember
Edit: also found my old Ridge Racer!

Hi Gryshnak

Welcome back to the hobby,
hope returning goes well for you.
You will find lots of help on here.

I live in the North West, we also have a bungalow in Bridlington Northside, so I know the wild Yorkshire weather well, good for gliders off the cliffs. And a new wind turbine arrives on the skyline most every day.

Hi.
Welcome to the rabble!!

We live in North Lincs but have a caravan in Filey.

Haven't yet got around to doing any cliff flying yet but have a couple of Zagis waiting for the chance, one powered for self rescue!

Where abouts do you live in East Yorkshire?

I have an F15 and a Tornado in the loft from Howard Metcalfe.

Thanks for the welcome, I live in Hull with my wife and 4 cats.

I managed to find a very old (1995) photo of myself with the Royalist soarer, I'm 57 now but I still have that plane :)

I'm an old fashioned designer and builder, with a reasonable stash of plans and scale drawings.  If anybody is looking for reference on a particular aircraft, just let me know...

There is a very good club at Beverly. Beverly and district MAC. They like gliders there, along with all the other forms of models.
