«
on:
September 03, 2018, 18:15:11 PM »
Hello All
Its that time of year again and to answer all the recent questions YES its on,

Same as allways please put you name on here.
all you regulars know the drill for the day, but all those newcommers, and i hope there is loads
here goes
Gates open 8.30 flying will start at 10am and continue undisturbed untill 6pm or its to dark to see whichever arrives first,
there will be the usual caterers on site............cheffy john and his oatcake/burger bar........tea and coffee unfortunately there is no loo as some scroats keep vandalising them, so its gone,
anything scale is welcome.... whatever its powered by, just please let us know prior to arrival if its a turbine,
we have no size restrictions we only ask that yoiu leave any excessively noisey models at home, our neighbours are very few and we have a good relationship with them. and we like to keep it that way, they will know scale day is on and often visit.
so the list is now....... OPEN!!
whos winning an oatcake for being first up the
chris

Hi Chris,
I’ll try to come though maybe slightly because Ryan is doing a march wiv da cadets and I’ve got to drop him off first. It also means I’ll have to shoot off early.
Obviously Ryan won’t be coming.
Hope to see you then.

Helloo
sorry for the delays in getting back, been distracted by other tings, (very elderly parents in and out of hospital)
to answer BV, s question and for the info of all i will leave the go no go decision as late as poss probably the friday befor when we might have a reasonable idea of local weather,
Dave turn up anytime mate you have my mobile if you need it.
update on days details for those who are new to us,
Our site is secured by tall fencing and locked gates, so on the day the gates will be manned until flying starts at 10am thereafter accesss is by a coded lock, on the gate you will find a bar with two padlocks on it one large for club members and one small especially for our event, the code you will need on the day is 109
cheers

Hellooo again
as it is only two weeks away now i thunk its time to just update where we are for the newcommers
DRCF , Derbyshire Radio Control Flyers, site, google us, is where Ashbourne scale day happens,
the adress is Ladyhole Lane, Ashbourne, now if you put this lane into your sat nav devices you will not be surprised to see there is only the one in the UK, but should you need it the post code is
DE6 1LR
this will bring you to the lane junction with the A52 Derby road, turn into the lane and continue aprox 1/2 a mile until you comr to a set of large galvanised gates, the second set, on your left they will be open before ten and closed after, code for lock is 109 just to remind you all, please lock the gates behind you,
follow the runway keeping om the right all the way to the end, turn right and you will see us in front of you anothe hundred yards or so.
cheers

1 more week to goooo 1 more week to gooo ooo
well thats plan A
as you know if for any reason of weather. fire, plague or earthquake it may get postponed but
will be speaking to cheffy tomorrow re catering so if you do have any bizzare dietry requests please let us know, you know them vegimitarians, vegans or fruitairians amongst us
the site is in fine fettle and the nieghbours have be advised its on and invited over for the day, thanks to fellow committee members,
so dust off them scale models and ready yourselves for a grand day out,
anyone bringing a glider if so we will endeavour to have a tug or two to hand,

Well now
We are monitoring weather on an hourly basis and its not making good reading
Showing showers all day 30 % possibility with wind speeds at 14 mph. Now we can learn ve with the odd shower but wind is the killer. As you know RAF Ashbourne wes the highest in uk and the wind caused RAF to abandon it. Will be checking in again after main forcasts at lunchtime so watch this space 😁

Hi all
As promised a decision has been made
After checking numerous weather apps its been decided to postpone until next week.
Iknow some will be disappointed but we trid to look at it from a point of would we travel for hours given the forecast and honest I don't think I would
Just checked long range forecast and it's more settled so that tipped it
Hope you all understand and will have a grand day on the 21st

thanks gents
as i sit here looking at a garden that apears to have had a visit from a herd of elephants trampling through flattening evrything, at least i know there are no more apples on me tree!!
and its still blowing at 40mph at times i am glad we did, we are mindful in making these decisions that the weather where you may be might be not good for traveling, just seen news from wales and lancashire coast ooo eeerrr,
so next week is on and it will happen we will just cope with whatever weather we get but to quote BBC we are looking at a more settled pattern of weather after this storm front has cleared through,

Spoke with Dad earlier - he always seems to get jealous when I am going to an event he isn't scheduled to - haha.
Think if it was less than a 600 mile round trip, he would have brought along the Tiger Moth.

Dear All,
Thanks to all of the guys for organising yet another great day at Ashbourne MFC fly in. It’s such a nice relaxing event with some great models to see and good craik.
John, thanks for slaving over a hot stove and keeping us fed!
So chuffed to get my Radio Control Scale Aircraft book signed by Gordon Whitehead too - thanks Gordon!

Thoroughly enjoyed my day out - great to catch up with people without my normal commitments.
Look forward to a few more events like this in the future - there were some great scale models and flyers there today.
Really liked the site too - now I need to get my finger out and have a model to fly next time :-)

Thanks to all who made the trip to our humble event today. Glad you all had a good time. Thanks to several People who made it a good day. Of course first and foremost Cheffy who kept the food and drink flowing all day. Also to Ian and Richard for the catering awning ant tea urn any and all who helped. Due to me being unwell these last few weeks I was only responsible for the forums and lists and bugger all use physically
Cheers all. Who's in for next year then???
