It's the summer fly-in. Forecast looks good, the site is looking better than ever too and the runway is, well its just awesome!!

So who is up for it? Plenty of camping space and looking at arranging a Chinese meal for Saturday night!

Had a great time last weekend with the BMFA Payload Challenges (Heavy Lift) at the BMFA National Centre.

Teams from all over the world taking part in 5, yes 5, competitions and we were blessed with lovely weather.

Visitors are very welcome to come and watch, offers of help are never refused!

There is even Roy's burger van on site for the event.

There should be pictures of 2018 up later today.

Would it be frowned upon to do some buddy-box flying?
I have a grandson who would like to come along but he isn't "off the lead" yet.

Buckminster certainly is a superb place to fly, and seems to get better with each visit.
The grass on the 300 yards runway is beautifully manicured and it is a delight to takeoff from and land on, and there is lots of open space to fly over.

To anyone who has not yet been, this weekend's fly-in is a good opportunity to enjoy the facilities and fly in a laid back atmosphere.

I second that, brilliant facilities with tea and coffee available all day. Highly recommended to those that have not been there yet.
