Scale Aerobatic will also be welcome, scale foamies are also welcome.

Three (smooth) tarmac runways in various directions.

I am hoping Dutch scale legend Jan Hermkens and his team
will attend this event for the third time. Jan's magnificent Invader
was featured in a recent issue of the RCM&E magazine.

You can see it here, http://janhermkens.nl/

A one minute silence will be held at midday for the fallen from all sides.
Proof of BMFA or LMA insurance will need to be provided on the day.

Dear All

Just three weeks to go to  the next Tibenham model event
I am starting to get a 'twitch' (steady).

Unfortunately Dutch scale legend Jan Hermkens is unable
to attend due to a family bereavement.

There is no flypast at the moment.

Thank you.

Regards Phil G.

Dear All

Dear All
Not long to go now, hopefully the weather will hold for us on Friday.

As always thank you to all those who are going to or contemplating
making the long trip to Tibenham and as always I will try my best to make
sure everyone has a good day.

As always I look forward to seeing all the magnificent scale models.

I am particularly pleased that Tim E. will be coming along with
his magnificent B17 Flying Fortress as this is the Salute to the
445th Bomb Group event. The 445th BG operated B24 Liberators
but the B17 is the next best thing.

As an aside long term supporters Tom and Sue E. will be bringing along
a few bottles of Redline 2T racing oil at special event prices if anyone is interested.

Regards Phil G.

That nice Mr "Black Current" invited me over to his patch last night for a bit of Tibbers prep and, just to prove it, here is some evidence.

ila_rendered

I'm hoping that today he'll explain what you have to do with the aeroplane and that funny box thing that you hold once you've got them out of the car $%&

See you Friday :af

All being well, Dickie S., Deano and Tim E. will
open the event with two Mustangs and a B17.

Although Dickie S. may not be able to attend
due to other commitments.

Pooh, the event starts at 10am and finishes at 6.45pm
It is electric only after that if people still want to fly.
The Tibenham Ball takes place in the club house after that.
The Ball is just a drink and something to eat and banter.

People normally arrive 8am onwards and the club house
which serves hot and cold food and drink all day from
9am onwards.

I have just arrived back from Tibenham and one modeller
has arrived already. Richard G. has come along with a very
nice Jerry Bates Tempest II with a vee twin laser. plus also
he has our very own John Ranson designed JU88 again
powered with laser 100's.

My Brother did not feel very well to day, so I could not take the
Lanc. So I took the EE Lightning instead while I was putting it
together it fell off the table and stand and damaged the wing,
canopy and fin. So that will not fly tomorrow and neither will
the Lanc as I can't get it all in. Oh dear.

The weather forecast looks very good indeed with a high of 23 degrees
and a gentle breeze down the runway. You beauty.

Tricky Dickie S. as expected is unable to attend.
It seems like we may have at least 3 new people attending
tomorrow which is good.

If anyone is thinking of coming along but think their models
are not big enough or anything like that, please come along
this is a very informal event where everyone is made to feel welcome.

There are no egos (apart from mine  ;D) at my events.

Foamies, aerobatic anything is welcome as long as it
looks scale (ish)

Drat and double drat!

Last of the LiPos is charging in readiness for tomorrow as the smell of a hot AJS wafts gently out of the garage (would have been rude not to pop out on it this evening).

See you tomorrow  :)

..........like that.

Just to finish your sentence for you (you probably fell asleep at the keyboard).

How's the Pup restoration coming along? The CO couldn't stop talking all the way home about what a bargain you got.

By the way CO, I've got 2 bits of your foam pipe insulation in my car - you should have left them in situ on your Spitfire wingtips when you flew it.

Anyway, an excellent day all round and thanks again to Mr G and the catering ladies.

Another great day.

Thanks to Phil for the organisation, and to every one who turned up.

I will get some photo's up ASAP.

Today was a work day and tomorrow is Flying Legends at Duxford, so little time to do any editing.

It was nice to see some new faces and especially some old one's.

Dear All
I would like to thank all those who attended this
event last Friday. I really do appreciate your support,
thank you.

I would like to thank my helpers on the day.
They are as follows,

Brian Cooper
Tony King
Kevin Fairgrieve
Tony C.
Clive G.
Mudders

Thank you very much chaps, I do appreciate your help.

My attention now turns to the Bob/100th anniversary of the end of World War one event.
The MR Camel which was very kindly donated to me by Dibble scares me as much as the
Lanc, Lightning and Jaguar.

I need to have the Camel ready for the Black Sheep Squadron's first official outing.

Thank you all once again.

Regards Phil G.

Yes many thanks Phil for an excellent day once again :af

We have awarded the first Bess and Queen Bess to a certain DR1 although I can claim the second Queen Bess for my Spit's last flight of the day  :embarassed:

The Tibbenham Ball I think had the record attendance of 7 and spawned a new point of ettiquette;

I have only just got round to processing these.

I still have a full size airshow and a fly in to get through yet.
