Dear All
I am pleased to announce that I have just received notification
from the Royal Air Force events team, informing me that we will
be receiving a flypast by the BBMF 'Lancaster'.

I have been trying/hoping to get a Lancaster flypast for years.
I am still shaking and I can't wait to see the mighty Lanc in action.

The Lanc to me is the most poignant of all the British WW2 aircraft.
Bomber Command lost 55,753 personnel during WW2.

Lest we forget.

Dear All
I received an email from Martin H. from Wiltshire today.
He has put his name down for this event with these electric models.

Anson
Twin Pioneer
Argosy

I think you might agree these models are fairly unique
and perfect for the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force event.

I look forward to meeting Martin and seeing his unique models in action.
Below are some pictures of the models.

Regards Phil G.

Stukno,
You are absolutely correct it is an Argosy.
Thanks for pointing that out.

Martin's email did state it was an Argosy,
however when I resized the pictures I renamed it Beverley.  :-X

Thank you.

Thank you all once again for your continuing support,
I really do appreciate that and I will never take it for granted.

As the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Royal Air Force
is such an auspicious occasion, what I thought would be nice is
if we could have a couple of slots featuring RAF aircraft through the ages.

And as always we must have a 'Balbo'.

Dear All
The Lancaster is due to flyover this event at 11:45am (Local)

You might ask yourself what do the ice cream cones mean
on the side of the Lanc. The ice cream cones represent a raid
on an Italian target.

Dear All
There is a chance that Norfolk flying legend Maurice Hammond
will be attending this event as guest of honour.

It was a joy to behold, to witness Maurice's superb
displays on numerous occasions at Tibenham in either
of his magnificent Mustangs.

It would be really nice to see him back at Tibenham.

I was wondering how he's been getting on - it all went a bit quiet (but that's fair enough and quite understandable!)

Dear All
Just under a week to go now, let's hope
the weather improves as it is terrible here
in Coltishall, Norfolk at the moment.

I can hardly contain myself at the thought of
seeing some lovely scale models and their owners of course.

And all being well the mighty Lanc roaring over I am sure that
will bring a lump to most peoples throats, including mine.

As always we will take a moment to remember those who gave
everything so that we can stand in freedom, and not forgetting also our
five friends that we have lost in the last two years who were stalwart supporters
of these events both at Coltishall and Tibenham.

This event is normally run on a semi off the peg basis
with a 'Balbo' thrown in for good measure.

As this event is to mark the 100th anniversary of the formation
of the Royal Air Force, I thought it might be nice if we say start
at 1pm, the RAF through it's 100 year history.

Obviously the first slot would be WW1 progressing through to
the present day, though I doubt anyone has a F35,
there will still be off the peg slots so no one is left out.

Pete (Taboborap, spelling) is due to attend and I hope Kev (NSS)
will be there also, so that we can get some 'Hollywood' shots.

The 'Balbo' will be led by either Dickie Scarbrough or Brian 'Cowboy' Cooper.

Hopefully at the end we can have a finale which is a mass formation.
That would make a mega 'Hollywood' shot.

Are you out there Charlie?
Please say the 'Shark' is coming along.

Are you out there Alan?
Please say the Tiger Moth and the Vampire are coming along.

Are you out there Mudders?
Please say the Fokker and the Spit are coming along.

Regards Phil G.

Excellent Mudders,
It is nice to have some away team aircraft,
we do tend to struggle with that particularly at the Bob.

Sold a Spitfire?
You and the Spitfire were synonymous for the lowest,
low level raid at Tibenham without crashing.
Dare I say even lower than Mr. Scarbrough.

Thank you for the support that you have given me
both at Coltishall and Tibenham.

Hi Phil,

To be honest i'm struggling to actually get there at the moment as i will be working away this week.

I put in a days holiday in January for this event, but, it may get cancelled.

The Shark is still waiting to be flown in its present set up after making some major changes so, even if i get there, the Shark probably wont.

I have another model i could bring, thoughit has nothing to do with the RAF, and it needs a maiden and set up.

Not having the best of RC years at the moment  :-\

Thanks Kev, I do appreciate your long and continuing support.

Charlie, this hobby of ours can be very challenging and frustrating
at times, however when it goes right it then all seems worth it.

I have no problem with you or anyone else conducting a maiden.

To be clear the event is open to any scale model or any jet.

The RAF through the ages which will run throughout the afternoon
and will not impact on normal flying. For instance a WW1 slot will
represent the RAF in the early years.

So the off the peg slots will be the same, if there is a RAF aircraft
in the slot it will represent a given era in the RAF's history.

Thank you for your help and support Charlie.
I always look forward to the Fens events.

I look forward to seeing the Shark in action whenever that might be.

I didn't like to ask Mudders, as you are already going to supply a tug.
