Dear All
This post has nothing to do with this event,
it is just an observation.

I just popped into this forum, there were 14 registered members
and 115 guests. Can I make an appeal to the guests, you are obviously
interested in modelling otherwise you would not be here, why not take a
moment to register and contribute to this forum.

Regards Phil G.

Dear All
I was contacted today by the BBMF,
the Lanc is now confirmed to flyover at 12:01 (Local).
Quite surprisingly the Lanc is going to perform 3 passes.
I thought it was going to be one pass and that would be it.
So I am delighted at that news.

That is not all the story, it is taking off from Coningsby
then flying over Lincoln City and then down to us at Tibenham Norfolk.
Now hear this bit, it is then going to make it's way over to Belgium and Holland
It is going to land in Holland and the crew are going to make a TV appearance.

The Lanc is then going to perform 7 flypasts in Holland and 5 in Belgium.
It is then going to make it's way back home and return to Coningsby
and it is due to land back in at 8pm.

I think you might agree that is one hell of a trek for the old girl.

Regards Phil G.

Dear All
I have just arrived back from Tibenham,
Our Lanc and Lightning are in the hangar
and are ready to go.

The weather forecast looks really good,
let's hope we get a good turnout.

If anyone is thinking I have never flown at an event before
but I would like to have ago, then please come along you will
be made very welcome.

Just a reminder hot and cold food and drink will be available
in the clubhouse from 9am onwards.

The Tibenham Ball will be held in the Clubhouse
after the flying has  finished.

I just had a text from Dickie Scarbrough, he is now loading
his trailer he is coming to Tibenham tomorrow, LMA East Kirkby
Saturday and finally off to RC Hotel on Sunday.

That is the way a modeller should live.  ;D

Kev,
You beauty.
I had a phone call this afternoon from the crew of the Lancaster,
they actually saw our Lanc on the runway.

Kev, I take it you still have your undercarriage
after your late departure from the Tibenham Ball?  ;D

Thank you.

Dear All
I would like to thank all those who made the trek
to Tibenham to support my humble event.

I do the easy part in organising these events.
You do the hard part taking time off and making the trek to
Tibenham and bringing along your lovely models
and also paying for the privilege of.

So without you, there would be no event.
So thank you for that.

I would like to thank my helpers on the day, they are.

You might have heard me say on Friday
that I had been trying for 15 years to get the Lanc
to flyover one of my events.

Well Friday it finally happened, I think you might agree
the BBMF did not let us down. A magnificent display
of precision flying. As I said to the Lanc crew on the radio
You can see why we won the bloody war.

The planning starts now for my next event at Tibenham.
Which is the Salute to the 445th Bomb Group.
The event will be held on Friday the 13th of July 2018.

The 445th Bomb Group were an American Bomb Group.
They operated B24 Liberators out of Tibenham during WW2

Thank you all once again.

Kev,
I am not getting at you.
I really do appreciate what you do for me.

There must have been at least 50 people with cameras
if not more at Tibenham on Friday.

They obviously do not frequent this forum, which is a shame.
I have sent out a pictures wanted on my email list.

I do like to see some nice pictures as I am fairly busy throughout the day
and there are so many things that I miss.

Kev,
I think you are right about that.
After what the crew said to me on the phone.
Thanks for posting that.

I think we missed a trick last Friday.
As well as the Lanc on the runway, we should
have used some bunting or something to draw
100 on the runway. Drat and double drat.

My good friend Graham Buchanan attended one of my
events for the first time in years. above is a picture

As you can see his work really is first class.

It was lovely to have the 'Wee' Scotsman back at my event.

Kev,
Is there away please of downloading all
the appropriate pics on flickr in one go please/
Probably a stupid question, I am good at those.

As an aside we had to make the German WW1
aircraft honorary RAF for the afternoon as we had
no serviceable allied WW1 aircraft for the start of
the RAF through the ages section.

Andy,
Thank you for your post, hopefully I will see you
at an event somewhere.

I am with you regarding Facebook, I joined it some years a go
and my account was hacked within a matter of days. So that was
the end of that.

This is a bona fide model site, so why would you want
to post everything on FB.

As an aside I think we set a new record for the Tibenham Ball
last Friday. There were 10 present including Henry who looked as
if he was about 2.

Richard,
Thank you for your kind words.
You are another modeller who has supported my
humble events both at Coltishall and Tibenham.
I really do appreciate that.

It is nice to have someone of your standing within
the model fraternity attend my events.

Hopefully you will be attending my July event
which is the Salute to the 445th Bomb Group
which has an American theme.

I thought it would be nice for yourself and Dean
to have the opening flight with the two Mustangs.
Which would be a nice sedate way to open the event.  :ev

I don't think I will be able to make it to East Kirkby.
