Blade 130S (and other Blade helis)
« on: March 15, 2017, 18:13:10 PM »
Further to earlier thread started by Bad Raven/Brave Dan, my 130S arrived today.

Set up transmitter exactly as per book/manual - and it flew very well indeed.

Thanks to BR pointing out frame rate should be 11ms and not 22ms, I had no problems - so "massive respect" to him - am fairly sure I would have missed this point otherwise (all my other stuff is on 22ms).

May reduce expo slightly to give bit more "oomph" when I try daring stuff (which for others would be very tame - I'm not adventurous!).

From the "Blade/E-Flite" stable I now have 230S, 130S and Nano CPS.

I think they are all good - and each has a different role, for me at least anyway:  Nano CPS is my experimental/sim heli [seems unbreakable so far despite the treatment it gets from me]; 230S is what I enjoy flying at our club field; 130S is great in the garden and at our field if wind light.

Used to have T-rex 250, T-rex 150 and also 150X - have to say the "bouncability" of the Blade helis is why I prefer them. Doubtless much better pilots might prefer the Align stuff though.

I do have a T-rex 500 which I love flying (it's basically the heli that taught me what little I know), but spares are a lot more than for the Blades! Also can only fly this at our field.

All the best, Alasdair.
