Title: Blade Nano S2 - Safety Issues
Post by: Bad Raven on May 16, 2019, 19:34:31 PM
REPRISE -

Bought one.

Set it up as per manual on DX9 as stated for DX9.

As soon as switched into Second Mode (what used to be Idle Up 1, now called "3D mode" by Blade), it pitched fully as it throttled and headed for the ceiling. I instinctively threw Hold Mode, AND IT DIDN'T STOP IT.

Hunted around and found that others in USA had had the same. "Bodge" fix found was to set Throttle Cut to -130 on the same switch as Throttle Hold.  NOT in manual.

Raised a flag with Horizon Hobby EU, Safety Issue, Throttle Hold not active when in 3D Mode

UPDATE:

4 days later, this reply:-

"please try this different settings for the mix:

On the Aux > Gear mix there are the two values 100% and 20%. That is not enough to push the copter into Panic mode and needed to be increased to 100% and at least 35%"

SO:-

1. This is an admission of ANOTHER separate issue!
2. I never mentioned Gear Mix or Panic Mode in my flag for support, which was concerned with the inability when set up using the stated parameters to be able to stop the rotor power with the Hold Switch during use in 3D Mode. (Hold is not acting as safety override as it should).

SIGH..................................................

Thx again for the "head up" on this - am also following the thread on rcgroups with interest (saw your post there as well). Was going to get the S2 but may wait a bit longer now. Regards, Alasdair.
