Hirobo Haven
« on: March 15, 2009, 20:03:33 PM »
Anyone know anything about it?Apparently some sceadu parts are the same, new scaled down turbulence head. Now has an 8mm feathering spindle, new tail gearbox, option to move the tail servo inboard.Available in hpm and swm versions, new canopy , beefed up side frames, new radio tray, new tank. ::cc

Hirobo in all their wisdom,or not, have not used the D3 turbulence's 2 piece clutch system, which seems very strange, as nobody really liked the sceadu's 1 piece clutch :o

Not yet, just got off the phone with a mate of mine who is a Hirobo distributor.Said it is not a rumour, saw one at the Toyfair in Germany.Price tba, but in the same sort of ballpark as the sceadu, just depends on how strong the yen is.Would make sense because i made some enquiries into getting a sceadu 50 ex from him,(the carbon and ally bling bling sceadu) only to be told it was discontinued.I asked him because i haven't seen one since i moved back to the UK.Had seen them in South Africa and they were more common in Dubai than the Freya 90 evo's.

its pictured on runryder as well

to sell in the uk it must be priced correctly with cheap spares and be able to fly very well

there will be no question about quality and it will fly well
i've seen prices quotes around $450 in the usa so lets hope rip off britian doesn't get the 1 = $1 factor by the uk dealers

if it doesn't get near trex 600 money it won't sell in great numbers
and then the trex fans need to have the align is best removed from their brains ;D

Yes, i know what you mean ::)
I can get a d3 for about 150 cheaper than it is available here.Go figure.Probably could get 10% for cash over and above that,Yep we really get ripped here :'(

Nice to think there might be a decline in TREX 600's though ::cc

anything like my 600 they will be all worn out by the end of the year
mines only 18 months old and worn out
my sceadu is 7 years old with very little wear :)

align may have cheap spares but it wears out very quickly

with a part number starting 0403
it looks like its the gph346 replacement as the gph's spares are numbered 0403-wxyz

lets hope it doesn't have the gph's price tag to go with the part number
or are they just using up all the gph spares?

the frames look like the sceadu but we're told they are an updated design
and the front servo tray is changed
and the turbulene type head (which looks very close to the vario/graupner/logo heads)
and they've put the rudder servo in the right, up front out the way of the exhaust smoke/oil :)

Time will tell.Pretty sure parts will be interchangeable.Am going to build up that third Sceadu i picked up the other week and convert to the sdx spec head and tail, canopy etc.IF i like it i will change the other two as well.No point in selling them and replacing them, have a fortune invested in Sceadu parts ;)

Have been working out what parts i need to order to convert to a sdx.Alot of it is already available under different part numbers, all the bearings are available from modelfixings, only one that was a bit tricky, not listed, but they have got it  :af
See the tail now uses 5mm thrust and radial bearings up from the sceadu's 3mm.Blade holders and hub reasonably priced. :af

i'm using the gph tail hub and blade holders on my sceadu
and i use the gph tail box on my scale machines where the orginal tail box is to large for the shell
the only thing with the gph tail blade grips is that they don't have a thrust race in them but i haven't had a problem as yet with them

were did you get the parts list for the sdx?

Using turbulence part numbers for the tail and some of the head parts, spoke to my mate in South Africa with some of the plastic parts.Only bearing that did not show up was 2500-055,but it is available od 10mm id 5mm and 4mm thick, on the tail hub.Tail conversion +-35 without blades.89 tooth maingear also now available 0412-291.There is also an 18tooth tailpulley available 0414-119, also an 18 tooth countergear 0414-413.So now you can use 79tor 80t second gear with 16,17, or 18t countergear and then 16 or 18t tailpulleys.Tailbladeholders 0414-494,tailhousing 0414-495, 2 thrust bearings 2500-082, and 4 bearings 2500-055. ;)

Think i must go and get some ssg rounds, shooting myself in the foot must be less payneful than buying your 600 ;D ;D ;D
Found them on the Hirobo online.de website, but would need to find a dealer. You could look on the heliguru forum for a link to a shop. The online.de website also has an exploded view of the d3.

My good news is i found a d3 head on ebay, going to fetch it tonight ::cc ::cc

Picked up that turbulence head from Mark Christy last night. I see it uses a 4mm Jesus bolt,so will have to redrill the mainshaft. ;)
