Horizon customer service
« on: June 13, 2017, 08:04:52 AM »
Does anyone know what the status is regarding getting radio equipment repaired here in the UK?

I have a DX9 with one of the digital trims only operating in one direction.
When they had an base in the UK it was quite straight forward, now no idea where I can get it repaired
I have emailed them, messaged them and posted on Facebook, it has taken two weeks just to get a message back directing me to their web site.

It is a real shame their customer service used to be second to none, it is going to make me think twice the next time I need to replace a transmitter

There is a long thread on the 'other' forum about HH, the retailer and the customer.

Apparantly someone returned a DX8 via the retailer for repair and after 3 weeks rang the retailer who told him "it'll be another 10 days and to be grateful because its only that he (the retailer) is speaking to a senior chap at Horizon that this information is available".
The retailer also said, not to worry because its too windy to fly so you're not missing out.
Sounds as if HH service is not what it was!

It sounds like the trim rocker has broken, happened several times on my old Dx6i, HH UK were pretty good I rang them up and they sent me some to fit myself, a pretty easy job.

HH have centralised everything in Germany and your Tx will need to go there for repair, some have reported a pretty reasonable turn around. It's a bit ironic that a German radio manufacturer who has a much much smaller market share than Spectrum still has an official service agent in the UK as well as a distributor.

Good luck in dealing with HH now, it took them four weeks to reply to a straight question I raised and the reply was see your dealer, when my question stated that I had already gone that route and they could not answer me as they didn't know and could not contact you!

I thought I had done just that when I bought my JR DSX9 then after about four years they abandoned DSM2 and because of UK distribution arrangements it was not possible to upgrade the Tx to the new JR protocol or to Spektrums DSMX. Now JR are going out of RC development altogether.

I don' think its just HH that don't give a hoot about the customer
Basic Research is what I do - when I don't know what I'm doing!.
