QuickConnect has everything to do with the Spektrum brownout myth. The problem was not that pre-QuickConnect Spektrum receivers reset at 3.5V, it was that they could take seconds to reacquire the signal after rebooting.
...and why would it reboot at all?  3.5v should be enough for a well-designed 3.3v LDO.  Most of their competitors receivers are still happily working at 3.5 volts, this is fact, not myth. QC is only necessary because the receiver is prone to brownouts. It doesnt prevent brownouts. But thats bye the bye, only an inadequate 4.8v supply would dip to 3.5v under load.

Cheers
Phil
