Registration Agreement

I know you usually skip past this part but please read, it's really important ......

It is a condition of membership that you use an email address which is a) regularly monitored b) Is not intercepted by spam-trapping software which requires authorisation and is, ideally not a Hotmail or YMail account.  You accept as a condition of membership that from time to time we may send-out newsletters or other communications to our members via email.  If we cannot successfully email you we reserve the right to delete your forum account. You stop this happening by ensuring that *,rcmf.co.uk *rcmf.info and *.rcmf-ads.co.uk are added to your email white-list.

We will NEVER share your email address with any third-parties.

Traders, please read the section at the bottom of the page with relation to your responsibilities.

You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, adult material, or otherwise in violation of any International or English law. You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also forbidden on this forum.

In posting text and images on this forum you agree to assign copyright to RCMF and its owners unless you specifically state otherwise.  It is considered poor etiquette to steal, poach or otherwise plagiarise information from one web-site for inclusion on another unless permissions have been obtained and credit is given to the original author and RCMF.

Note that it is impossible for the staff or the owners of this forum to confirm the validity of posts. Please remember that we do not actively monitor the posted messages, and as such, are not responsible for the content contained within. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented. The posted messages express the views of the author, and not necessarily the views of this forum, its staff, its subsidiaries, or this forum's owner. Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify an administrator or moderator of this forum immediately. The staff and the owner of this forum reserve the right to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if they determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, please realize that they may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy applies to member profile information as well.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owners of this forum, any related websites to this forum, its staff, and its subsidiaries. The owners of this forum also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any other related information collected on this service) in the event of a formal complaint or legal action arising from any situation caused by your use of this forum.

You have the ability, as you register, to choose your user-name. We advise that you keep the name appropriate. With this user account you are about to register, you agree to never give your password out to another person except an administrator, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree to NEVER use another person's account for any reason.  We also HIGHLY recommend you use a complex and unique password for your account, to prevent account theft.

As a matter of policy, we do not delete a member's account or their posts on request.  In registering on RCMF you agree to this policy.

After you register and login to this forum, you will be able to fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clean and accurate information. Any information the forum owner or staff determines to be inaccurate or vulgar in nature will be removed, with or without prior notice. Appropriate sanctions may be applicable.

Also note that the software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your username and password), in your browser's cache. This is ONLY used to keep you logged in/out. The software does not collect or send any other form of information to your computer.

These are just a few informal guidelines which will help all of us get the best out of RCMF.  Please have a read through them before making a post.

Topic hijacking
This is considered very bad form.  If you are inspired by a topic which raises a non-related question in your mind, please create a new topic rather than hijacking an existing one.  An example might be ...

Hi, I've just bought an xyz engine.  Can anyone tell me the best fuel to use?

"I had an XYZ but preferred the ABC - does anyone know if you can still get them?"

Should have gone to Specsavers posts
Unless you can offer first-hand, logical and reasoned judgement, please avoid telling someone that, in your opinion they have bought the wrong kit/equipment etc.  Nobody likes to be told that, even if they have!  An example:-

I've just spent the mortgage money on a brand new XYZ radio and can't find how to adjust aileron differential, can anyone help?

Should have bought ABC mate!

Junk posts
Please avoid making inappropriate posts which detract from the topic under discussion.  Imagine how frustrating in can be for someone that genuinely and urgently needs a question answered.  Here's an example:-

I've just fitting out my new XYZ model and hoping to do the maiden flight tomorrow. However, I'm really concerned about the CofG and it seems way-off in the instructions.  Can anyone tell me what it should be?

You wanna go buy a new CofG mate  :) :) :) :) :)

Another example of Junk posts are one which contain only smilies (otherwise known as emotes).  They add nothing and just serve to annoy those who are trying to follow the thread.  There are of course boards where this is not so much of an issue like The Pub but even so adding one emote to show, for instance, that it's a tongue in cheek remark is valuable but using two adds nothing!  Please avoid!

TRADE MEMBERS - PLEASE READ

Trade members are very welcome but please note that unsolicited advertising is not permitted.  If you would like to advertise on RCMF please email nigel@grass-media.com for information.  Any posts you make promoting your products and services will be removed immediately unless prior permission has been obtained.  Thank you.
