Glider Programming for JR DSX9
« on: March 25, 2017, 12:37:08 PM »
I've been reading a very old posting from December 2009 entitled "Here is really easy six channel glider programming for JR transmitters" by GP ( I hope he doesn't mind) and I could do with some help
I'm using a JR DSX9 and a Spectrum AR8000 Rx.
This is my first foray into gliding of any sort although I've been flying fixed wing and heli's for years.
I've programmed everything in as per instructions and most things work ok but I'm having trouble with the flight mode switch.
With the switch forward ( toward you) this gives flaps slightly up.
Switch in middle, not much changes.
Switch away from you, flaps down ailerons level.
Sub trims don't work on all switch positions, only on position 3
Ailerons work okay from aileron stick (mode 1)
I don't know if GP is still around or if he wants to be bothered with this but any help would be appreciated

I too had a DSX9 (now a DSX11) and always struggled with programming for a 4 servo wing glider. It was a relief when i did it as I could then just copy it and adapt for various other similar models.

It might be helpful if you can put a link to the previous thread that you refer to.

I also fly gliders with a DSX9 and I found the best source of info for setting up all types of glider, including powered gliders, is one written by Sherman L. Knight on Setting Up the JR XP9303 Computer Radio which is similar to the DSX9.
It is a lengthy document but as you soon realise the same basic details are repeatedly  described for each type of glider.  Just turn to the setting up of a 4 servo glider and there you have it.

Managed to programme this at last, it was a simple mistake by me, I put in a positive value instead of a negative one.
All working now thanks

can't wait to fly it now ,,,,

Well Done!
The most important things now is not to lose that memory and to make a copy elsewhere in the transmitter!

Yes, GP is still around.
You'll find him on the South East Glider Flyers thread.
You could also PM him or go to his website - www.slopehunter.co.uk
I'm sure he'll be very pleased to help if he can..
I'm not old, I've just been young for a very long time!
