Contact BT and tell them you want to cancel your deal with them and that you shop elsewhere. Make sure to tell them you are not impressed with their prices. Tell them you can get a better deal for less money. Do your homework so you can quote a few deals. They will fall over themselves to offer you a new deal with a much lower price. I have done this four times with them (so far), and each time they will offer their "new customer" intro rates. . . If you still quibble about it, sometimes they will offer an even lower rate than the intro rate. Have fun,B.C.
if your email address is xxx@btinternet.com it will work with other providers.BT tried very hard to close down these addresses, with various offers, threats etc, but I think there were so many of them they just gave up trying. My personal email account is a xxx@btinternet.com and I access that via a BT account and a non-BT account.

You could just register a domain with another provider then add a mailbox to it - that way you're free from issue when/if you ever switch broadband supplier.Couple of quid a month and maybe a tenner for a year for the domain, no hassles.
