Okeedoke Allen, :af

Will it be the same as last year with regards to doing each stage in any order that you like? $%& (I only discovered this afterwards).

Sorry Allen, but I could not resist posting this extract from your report last year regarding Phil. ;D

Quote
The comp was kicked off by Phil completing the entire course without fault, leaving me thinking I had made the cause to easy and everyone would end up joint first, this did not turn out to be the case, in fact just staying up long enough to get round most of the course seemed to be almost impossible.

Lets hope Sunday is okay for it!

Thanks for todays comp Allen, & well done on the win!. :af

I look forward to reading the comp results & report. ;D

I have never actually tried flying from 1 bowl to the other, & reckon I could have even limped back to flag 1again.

Matt & I hung around until 17.00, & made the most of that fantastic smooth lift.

Congratulations Allen, your first contest win but not your last I'm sure.  To beat Gary Harrison in any contest is pretty amazing!

I wish I could have made it but tied up with family.  I'll definitely do the ESSA F3F and maybe the fun fly.

Darn, I was actually going to enter that!

Weird weather forecast for tomorrow, it's all over the place.  If it looks any good in the morning I'll come down and do some informal flying somewhere.

Crowlink day this weekend
This means the club will bring Bungees, hand tows and their winch
I am hoping for an F3B style comp but weather, models and turn out will control my decision
So don't leave your floater at home coz you expect F3B
and when I say F3B I mean Multi launch followed by my choice of course
so you may not think you have a suitable weapon but I will do my best to make the comp fair for all

Weather permitting  :af

Allen, I meant to say that it might be worth bringing a comp flag as an indicator for anyone that is hand towing, & I will try & dig out a decent pair of garden shears, just incase there are any annoying thistles intent on wrestling with the tow lines.

ALLEN you about?

Do you reckon it will be on tomorrow? I doubt I will be sloping afterwards if its SSW, but might might try my middle phase up the line again, & see if I can get some slope/cliff lift.

I guess I had better look at me ordnance survey map first to see if the wind will be on any nearby cliffs/slopes first though, lol.

Hey Allen,

Many thanks again for today! :af

It made a nice change, & I`m tempted to fly there again instead of the LM when we get those lighter days, & particularly when its a SSE-SSW.

Its a shame about that low cloud, but even so, I must have been pushing 2 minutes plus on my middle phase advanced, & all thanks to that nice bungee of yours, & that bit of breeze, lol.

Thanks also to the rest of you for the cable retrieval & so on. :af

Hi Allen, any chance of asking Ray to email everyone now-ish, & then again Saturday. I`m not sure, but I suspect that many find out at the last minute, & by then their Mrs`s have told them that will enjoy something else far better, such as going to B&Q to look for wallpaper.

Don't think I'll be flying at crow link today... too windy for my fling & condor not quite ready. Might go to long man in the afternoon if the wind goes more westerly... Don't like SW that much.

As a few of you know i live in Hastings and am a regular flyer at Hastings country park or Fairlight .Last week i was told by a park warden i could not fly there. I contacted the BMFA and they agreed with me that only power model aircraft are forbidden by the bye laws. The BMFA advised having a copy the bye law and BMFA membership card with you when you fly there. If you fancy a bit of Fairlight flying I am always happy to help.  see what  you are missing http://youtu.be/pFpMt6mkPyM

Looks nice - I'll definitely fly there some time.  A relative actually wrote her memoirs of her 1930s childhood there and how much she loved it.  That's why I've always meant to go and fly there.
