Hi Allen,

Many thanks for organising todays Fun-fly BBQ, & thank you to your Mrs & kids & JP also! :af

I have emailed you 3 lots of pictures from today, but they are a bit dull/overcast I'm afraid.

Allen, is that the Red Lion Stone Cross, or the Red Lion Willingdon re-AGM?

It might be an idea to send Matt a unique notification nearer the time telling him the AGM is on the 4th of December. I am just thinking of his previous 'form' regarding food! ;D

Right, that's it, I'm sick of all these ''Matt scoffs all the food'' comments, just because I might've taken a couple of sandwiches home last year, and understandably thought it was an all you can eat buffet on Sunday doesn't mean that I'm some sort of Gannet, a man's got to eat after all.

Just wondering though, any chance of some cakes at the AGM, it's just they last and I  won't have to put them in the freezer. ;D

Anyone know if the listed BMFA 60" foamie league is due to go ahead Saturday if the weather is suitable? $%&

I got the ESSA email regarding the F3F comp on Sunday, but there is no mention of this.

I do remember a thread about the lack of interest a while back, but see that it is listed on the ESSA calender & in BMFA magazine. $%&

Oh well, if they turn up, they will just have to risk the possibilty of me being there & having a pleasure fly. :D

I guess you're planning to fly at Butts?  At the moment the forecast is for the wind to be East or fractionally north of East, which I guess means the F3F will be at Butts. Earlier in the week it was showing as slightly south of East, so I was wondering if it might be at Beachy.

I don't envy being the one to make that decision!

Even the weather girl on telly earlier could not decide if the rain will hit, or whether it will pass by & be a quite decent day.

Last Sunday they were giving it gales & heavy rain, but thankfully it turned out to be about the best day of the year.

Oh well. :xx

Current forecast looks like ENE 15mph, perfect for Butts - probably 20mph on the hill, perfect F3F conditions.  If the rain holds off.

I notice xcweather is always slightly more optimistic than bbc, xcweather says no rain, bbc says rain.  I reckon xcweather is right.  The bbc over-predict rain just so no one can say they failed to predict it.  Fingers crossed...

The Met office is giving it fairly good, but I have a nagging suspicion that mist/fog might be on the cards.

I normally go by the what the Met office says, because I think it is what the BBC & ITV go by before putting their own contradicting spins on it. lol

A good comp despite challenging conditions.  Interesting to see the results are quite closely spaced - for instance Allen I see your score isn't actually that much lower than the winner, well done.

Phil,

I will take a look in a minute, & dig out that email/newsletter for you, but it is worth taking a look here, http://www.eastsussexsa.co.uk/default.asp , as they like to have an idea of numbers so as not to under/over cater at the AGM.

I gather Matt might have notified them already, but under a few different guises. lol.

Thanks Allen &  :xx

I hope to make it along, but in a bad way with flu at moment.

It sure is a nasty one! It come on suddenly Sunday night/Monday morning & started with a severe headache & within 4 hours I got uncontrollable shivering, & was so faint that I could not even stand at one point. I still don`t feel too steady now.  :'(

So if I do make, you lot have been warned!

I don`t envy making a decision Allen!

XC are giving okay-ish, but I think the Met Office are erring on the side of caution, & giving it quite a bit more & impressive gusts.
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/index.html?tab=map&locId=310037&fcTime=1353650400&type=SignificantWeather&zoom=8

21.00 onwards on Saturday night looks quite impressive, & in particular midnight.

They are giving it gusting at 51mph WSW at 9.00, & I know that Allen craves these wind strengths. :'(

Going by wind strength at Butts Brow the other week, I am guessing that will mean gusts in the mid 70`s. :o
