So where's good for this weekend? Forecast is E at the mo, maybe swinging slightly S.
Ok, this isn't funny, who's moved my sense of humour?

Treak Clif wil be megga. Hope it sticks, one of the peak districts best slopes IMHO.

Part at blue john cave, walk towards the shop, and go through the gate to the left. follow the path over the styl, and go a little left to get some cover.

Landing is back over the style for about 100m or so (Flat land so not too difficult).

Metcheck shows Easterly from mid to late morning, so Elkstone looks good.

I thought Elkstone was a SE?

Anyway do you think the fog/mist will have lifted by late morning? Didn't clear up in Stafford 'til 1.30pm Thurs.

Hi Feefo, Elkstone is East.....If it's ENE it could still be flyable, if not it will be behind the Roaches......fly out of the boot and land in soft heather.....thats what her name is I think.... :study: Ant.

Jeez...9.30. Don't think I'll be that early but you never know.

Went today as well, got there about 2-ish after watching the Flash bar's webcam all morning (sad I know) waiting for the mist/fog to clear. 25mph with gusts up to 30. Wind was dead on the slope for about 3/4 hr and then moved slightly to the left. Very bumpy out there with limited visability too but some good lift on the left. Landing the SBird was..er..bottom clenching, VERY bumpy up the top, prob did 10 or 12 attempts at getting the approach right which I eventually did  :af.

Don't know if it'll be any different tomorrow, but the gate to the field was open and the cows were in the 'car park'. I parked by the cattle grid today so they didn't go and scratch their ar$e's on my car but if a few go up just be warned the cows are loose.

Scott, don't forget the wing  :af

I'm hoping to take a trip to do some sloping at Rushup Edge and have looked through the internet for details of parking and access, etc, but found little.

Can someone please provide me with the details or point me in the right direction?

Thanks.
Chris.

Go to the Mam Tor carpark near to Blue John's Tavern.

Then walk up the path which goes towards the hill. When you cross the road, Mam Tor is to your right and Rushup Edge to your left. You go through a large gate and follow the path. It's pretty obvious once you are there  :af

Hmmm...bit sceptical about going, falling over and knackering my hip has put me off a bit, but is anyone heading to the Cloud tomorrow? Wind map forecasts a complete swing about 3pm from N-ish to S so the days flying will be over by the time it does.

C'MON WIND...SWING WEST........ :xx

Has anyone used this radar gun before?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BUSHNELL-SPEEDSTER-II-HANDHELD-RADAR-SPEED-GUN-101900_W0QQitemZ330379834305QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=212930416528&rvr_id=212930416528&cguid=84fcbcb912a0a0e203a49dd4ffe8dfdb

Just out of interest, if you got a fully ballasted F3F, climbed to about a 1,000ft, and did a dive towards the slope, how fast do you think it could go? I've seen some people do that, and it looks like they're going more than 120mph! :)
