Not much action from The Proper Cornish Slopers lot Mart...whats more no postings from Roger.....strange..?.

Sent him a text message as well about three weeks ago, no reply to that either, never mind be down there in 3 weeks or so, dare say will catch up with him then... :-\

Rather hoping the wind might pick up a couple of MPH and swing round to a southerly and if that happen`s i`m off up the hill...... :nananana:

You reading this as well Mr Mills ?...
Roger has been banned permanently from this forum.

He is on one of his slope tours, in the Cotswolds this time. Not sure about the text I do not think he got it, but I will tell him and I expect he will ring you tonight.

An error does not become truth by reason of multiplied propagation, nor does truth become error because nobody sees it.

A good late afternoon session at Codden yesterday although forcasted wind speed`s were way out, in fact they were a steady 33mph and maxing out at 46mph, but good to hone the flying skills...DF/Martin P/Dave M/Ron present.

Martin`s ST Fox broke the end off the wing, but Wildthing`s rule the hill`s in these conditions.

Look`s like Mortehoe on Tuesday and Woolacombe down on Wednesday providing there are no floater`s or hangliders there, although the odd one or two is no problem but any more than that I prefere to land for THIER safety....

The alternative to Woolacombe down on Wednesday is Foreland Point above Lynmouth overlooking the Bristol Channel, slightly longer drive but well worth it

All the above weather permitting....

Forecast looking good for Mortehoe on Wednesday. 17mph WSW - should be spot on.
Might get up there after work.......around 4pm or so.

Great to see folks using the slopes of N. Devon.
I used to fly around the area in the mid 90's...had a Multiplex Alpina that loved Woolacombe Down and the cliffs over looking Putsborough, and a 2m scratch built DG100 that worked well on Codden and Braunton.
Have any of you tried the Punchbowl on Winsford Hill? Not the best for big ships but I reckon a foamie would do well there...they didn't exist when I flew!

Hi Mark...nice to see some posting activity on this site, I spent yesterday afternoon at Mortehoe and condition`s were superb and the sun came out as well to top it off.

I`m a relative newbie to flying and always looking for new hill`s to fly off so with regard to Winsford hill...never thought of there so thanks for the tip will try that...any particular wind direction ?.

Woolacombe down looking good for this afternoon, although I was hoping the wind was going to stay in a westerly direction so I could get up to Foreland Point where I flew several weeks ago and then it was AWSOME....! ! !    ;)

I've been to the Punchbowl, but never flown it. I reckon it is probably on in a NE wind. Good parking just off the road and a shortish walk across to the bowl. Probably worth a trip over there to try it out?

Awesome lift at Countisbury Common this evening.  :af
Blowing a steady 30+mph and smack on the slope.
Had a couple of hours from 1700 on, before incoming rain curtailed the fun.
Had 1 1/2 lb of ballast in the Acacia and reckon it could have carried double that. Must sort out the wing ballast tube!  ::)
Slippery Sloper and Dave M made up the numbers for an enjoyable session.
