I would advise we make the long walk to the west side slope, due to the risk of a little more north than a clean NE

I've only been there once.  I followed Gary's instructions in slopehunter.co.uk and arrived there no problem at all.  :af  Well,  apart from nearly getting stuck following another car up the hill as it had started snowing quite heavily just before I got there - hopefully that shouldn't be a problem tomorrow!

Epic day at Bopeep today
Lots of the kent lads flew the east side  $%& Propably better for landing for their MASSIVE scale models.
while the rest of us flew the west side
lift started big and smooth and ended 35+ and turbulent

So great to have a PROPER session at Bopeep today!  Here is the biggest plane of the day, Simon's 40% jobbie, which weighs something like 25kg and takes 3 people to launch:

Cheers Alan, how many servos in each wing of this ASG beast Simon?

Four in each wing Martin - so 8 in the wings, 2 for the elevators, one rudder, one tow release, so a total of 12.  I'll need another for the retract if I make and fit it.
I wasn't totally happy with the way she flew today at Bopeep and hope it is just CG and final trimming, but it was definitely stressful keeping her up - second flight much better than first, so that's good!

It looked fantastic in the air, it didn't look like you were struggling.

I liked the way two real Duo Discuses were flying over us while I had my Duo Discus there today, so I've photoshopped a real one and mine into the same frame:

Great day out today at the east site at Bopeep.
Gary's stills are excellent and when Simon posts the video of his 7.2 metre ASG29, his magnificent achievement will be able to be appreciated even more by all.
Carrying all 25 kg of the beast uphill to the launch point was also no mean task for Simon as well.
It was a great job that the launching team did for Si, I just pointed the video camera and pressed the button!
I had a goodly number of flights with my 4 metre ASH 26 but it still won't roll as fast as Simon's massive beast with nearly twice the wingspan.  :banghead:
