Suffolk Slopers
« on: January 02, 2010, 22:09:46 PM »
Spoilt by Slopehunter's excellent work in the SE to identify slope sites, and possibly heading towards some time in Suffolk this year, but not enough to do much abortive searching, I thought I'd ask, where are the Slopes to visit please??

Thorpeness has a nice cliff, I know guys who have flown there, but landing space is quite small, or you could try Sizewell a bit further up the coast, Dunwich has cliffs but I don't know of anyone who fly's there. Then up Cromer way there is the Beeston Bump, could try that, also Holkham Sands is somewhere I would like to try for some low level duneage.

Where you headed too?

Mud  :)

OO OOOO, just remembered the place that inspired me to get a DLG, a little place called Waxham, there is a holiday park campsite thingy there, nice bit of big dunage to slope.

Thanks for replies Guys, I'm not sure exactly where, access to places to fly might influence the decision!!  :''

Got to sort two ageing relatives out, and wifey thought we might take a beach place while we were at it. (buying sawn off shotgun soon......................that'll sort 'em  ^-^ )

Mud, I'd seen a pic of Dunwich on Google Earth, and had thought it might be popular, from what you say maybe not.

SO, that's some probable easterlies sites, but tuppence it goes westerlies the whole time I'm there?

I fly foamies and I'm fairly good at threading needles, so landing space usually isn't an issue, my foamies include everything from Alula-ish DLGs to Wild Thing 60", also own design large plank (Flying Wings Storm cores but not chevron) and probably by then a JW or an M60 or similar.
