Welsh Holiday
« on: October 15, 2012, 22:24:25 PM »
hi all,

i have just booked a family holiday for june '13 to Haven, Porthmadog. we intend to tour the area having been to Llandudno about 6 yrs ago and really enjoyed outselves. my boy (4) is desperate for me to take him 'hill flying' as we normally fly power models.

so im looking for local sites to fly from for slopers and maybe small electric mower models (whenever i can sneek into the car). i know of the ormes but have never flown there. where's good to fly? easy access a must with no long hikes, ideally park car walk 100m and fly!

cheers

nick

You want to be thinking of the Llyen Peninsula.

Worth buying the relevant land ranger map for 6.99

Some walks, some not.

Orme is fantastic. SW site fits you description perfectly. You can see the LDZ/car park in this vid at the at end.

Bear in mind the Orme will probably be over an hour away.
Some of the Llyen slopes will be a bit of a drive too.

The Orme gets very busy at weekends btw.
